All the ways you saw Star Trek

I recorded them on audio tape.

I think of the different tech too. TV rabbit ears. Cable TV. Vhs. Hifi vhs. Then Hifi vhs with surround sound. Crt up to 27" then 37" flat-screen. The latest is on 65" 4k. Bluray.

I have a 32-inch 720p TV, and the Blurays are more revealing than the remastered DVDs, but not overwhelmingly so. You're seeing the Blu's on a 65-inch 4K set? Would you comment on that, as to what you're seeing? Do you sit close to the screen to be immersed in the picture, as I would?

15) Netflix and Amazon Prime. Lol. Watched everything for the first time last year streaming online. I'm a Millennial nerd.

I grew up in a house with one land line (a rotary phone) and a b&w TV that got four channels. It's great that TOS can hold the interest of people born after the home computer age began.

I have a 50" 4K TV that I sit about five-six feet away from. TOS on Blu-ray is downright beautiful, and sometimes overly revealing of the flaws that lower definition sets hide.

The picture quality and amazing color more than make up for the occasional visible flaw.

It sounds like having your own 35mm film prints, but without the projector noise. :bolian:

We sit 8-9 feet away. I don't like being too close. I sit in the middle of movie theaters, with few exceptions. When we first got the TV our heads were tilted back because it was so big. Felt like we were looking out a window.

I haven't watched TOS-R many times on the 65", maybe 3-4 times. It looks fantastic on it. Blemishes and production foibles don't matter too much, I know what it is Iand know the restoration made the show look better than ever. I can live with coffee stains. I think I told the story of seeing "The Immunity Syndrome", I'm pretty sure that was on the 55" 4K I had. The new CGI opening shot blew me away on a bigger monitor.

My first flatscreen HD TV was 32". I figured it would be a step up from my old 28" CRT TV. Within a year I found the 32" too small and replaced it with a 42".

I saw a public showing of the "remastered" version of The Menagerie at a theater around ten years ago. It was a one-night-only event, I believe nationwide in the US.

Hmm... am I the only one here who went to see this?

Same here, except I'm at 50" right now. I figure in another year, I'll be able to sell my wife on a 70". :shifty:

Didn't play anywhere close enough for me to see it.

I went to The Cage Fathom event. It was lousy in Burbank, CA, and the Okuda's were sitting behind me! The sound only came from the left front channel and I seem to recall that only the projector for the opening ads was used, not the actual cinema projector.

Since then I've seen The Cage and The Trouble with Tribbles projected with original effects while I've also seen Amok Time and Mirror, Mirror projected with the new effects. All were superior presentations to the Fathom event.
