All the Negative people.

To be fair, we are Star Trek fans. We are the original lunatic fans that show how much they love something by how much they claim to hate it. There's literally a rule in our charter that we don't like anything new until at least fifteen years have passed and suddenly we're complaining how the latest stuff is ruining its legacy.

TrekCulture is a corporate joke.. earning millions of views due to the fact that it is basically WhatCulture. Why not support the smaller, hardworking channels that talk about Trek in a less superficial way? What you a re doing is everything wrong with fandom and YouTube

What I’m doing is everything wrong with fandom? I find it entertaining. No big deal, no reason to make comments like that because it’s not your cup of tea.

Animated Star Trek is very serious business....

I have a simple list of rules about Lower Decks criticism:

1. "If you are going to complain about it not being a serious action show like Young Justice, you cannot complain about anything in Star Trek ever again. You have lost the privilege."
2. "If you are worried about Mariner showing up Brad because she's a black woman and he's a white dude-ish, you cannot complain about anything in Star Trek ever again. You have lost the privilege."
3. "If you think Mariner is a jerk and doesn't deserve to be a Starfleet officer, you are correct and that's why she's on the verge of being cashiered."

3. "If you think Mariner is a jerk and doesn't deserve to be a Starfleet officer, you are correct and that's why she's on the verge of being cashiered."

What if I don’t think she’s a jerk? Just a young person with a high opinion of her own capabilities, that gets her in trouble.

I’m a white dude.

The show is stupid. Mariner is a mary sue. The plots are decent (except for the fact that Mariner is always both causing and solving the problem and Boimler is a put on,. and that formula will get old) I do agree the actual episodes make sense. If both of these episodes were live action and a little longer, just so that the humor can settle in and be inherent to the characters, then I'd probably be cool with it, even if I didn't think it was great. Like I brought up before, the pilot of this show isn't much different than the pilot of the Orville, (LD.. the crew is turned to zombies, and they find the cure, while the character story is these new ensigns finding their place and Boimler is watching ofver Mariner because she is the captain's daughter.. no great stakes, but no less than Orville's pilot.. where we have a MacGuffin that the bad guys want, but the story is that Ed's wife cheated on him, and now she is serving with him). But it is hard for me to watch when the look of the show is just so hideous, and the dialogue is unnatural, too fast, and nothing is left to feel at all "real".. if this is "decent' episodic television.. I guess the standards for "decent" have been lowered

Well, maybe. But they used to spend a lot of time before filming anything. "Technology unchained", starship design, lighting, makeup tests, motion control, models etc.. just to make a pilot. This is just "let's make all the characters look like simple kid's drawings".. Lower standards for Lower Decks. It's Kurtzman's way of getting some numbers in his favor after Picard lost half its audience by the time the last episode was broadcast. Screw the sycophants

As if the show, and its inane dialogue, can be taken seriously.. that the once shining jewel in the crown of paramount has to sink to the level of making this ..."show"

Yes, I can take the show seriously and laugh at it too. So, yeah, I don't see this sinking on any level. And certainly I see no reason to see this as Kurtzman "getting in some numbers" based upon malicious rumors that Picard "lost" half its audience. All that BS cannot be taken seriously.

So, yeah, Lower Decks can continue on, please and thank you. Hopefully others find things to enjoy outside of it instead of nursing irrational hatred at a show for daring to exist and people liking it...

I never said you couldn't like. I was stating my opinion.

And I was stating mine. Though, I question the use of sycophant in this conversation.

Also, the BS repeating of Picard's numbers with no basis in reality, as well as the continued insistence of insulting the art team. Yeah, it's not an opinion I can take seriously.

The show on the other hand, totally take it seriously.
