All that matters-spoilers

On and on and on it goes...It will ruin Canon--Kirk in a black shirt--Kirk boinking Uhura--The ship looks different--Romulans Don't have tatoos--It is aimed at kids--the music will be new--everything will change--blah blah blah...

All that really matters???? Will it make money. That's it. Nothing else matters. You may consider that a bad thing, that it all comes down to money. But it does. That is why Berman lost his job. NEMESIS bombed big time...so he was fired..Enterprise sunk too...

So ask your self..is NO star trek better than any star trek at all??? I say No. Changes were going to come someday. The moment I heard Koenig float the idea they should reboot, and he did it years ago, thats when I realized he was right. There is something 'special' about TOS. But it is no different than BOND, Batman or Superman. All three of those franchises are as big, or not bigger, than TREK..and they went on with changes...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ = more Star trek...

Ugh, why do people make these threads?

Honestly now, yes there is probably a lot of money involved, and JJ has probably thought about the millions of Star Trek fans out there before making this film. Now Nemesis wasn't that great of a film, true. But the thing is there isn't just money involved but with all the reboots that have been released recently, it has been watched closely and decided it could be a good idea.

As far as I've seen there has been a good storyline thrown behind this, it's not just a "lets slap some things together, release it and try to make a franchise out of it".

Didn't you get the memo? The (presumed) boinkee in that scene isn't Uhura.

Aside from that, I'm not sure that what you're asking here is really all that far removed from what you asked over in this thread a few days ago. Is there any reason the two can't be merged?

On the bright side of things, THIS reboot can still allow the original 1965-2005 TREK universe to remain intact in its "original" timeline unfettered as we've always loved it. Unlike Bond or Batman, which basically ask fans to try their best to ignore or forget the previous history of events and timeline to start from scratch with new people and ideas.
