I'm totally cool with it being Danny boy himself. The TCW was so underused as a concept as was Daniels. I wonder if Disocvery had gone onto season 6 if this was the set up for that season's story.

Could be either but the NX Enterprise wasn't a USS Enterprise when Daniels was around. So maybe he means a 31st Century Enterprise? Possibly a timeship Enterprise?

As someone who has believed over the years that revealing any answers about Kovich would destroy the mysterious allure of the character, I'll admit revealing he's Daniels actually doesn't destroy the character at all and if anything enhances him.

Would have explained the Sisko baseball. (not the Geordi visor tho)

I can just imagine Daniels lingering around when Geordi is getting his ocular implants at some point between Generations and First Contact, grabbing the visor the minute nobody's looking and taking off.

I assumed he was referring to the NX-01. Although it is true it wasn't supposed to be USS Enterprise, it was still mistakenly referred to as such a few times during Enterprise's run, usually in computer graphics.

While it's not visible on screen, I think the NX Enterprise in PIC Season 3 was labelled USS.

Kovich wasn’t always Daniels according to an interview with Michelle Paradise, it came up during Season 4.

Yep, I got the feeling Kovich being Daniels wasn’t the original intent for the character. And the fact that they retconned him into Daniels is…disappointing, to say the least. If anything, one would have to have a familiarity with ENT in order for this revelation to actually have any meaning, and even then it’s just fanwank. I mean, it’s not like Burnham, Saru, etc. would know or care about the name Daniels.

Sorry, I just don’t see these two characters as being the same person.

That was unclear to me as well. Most people seem to assume the NX-01, but to me that makes no sense, it was just a row of missions.

IMO, he could have been on any Enterprise from the 26th-Century onwards. He might have been undercover as a steward on NX-01 as part of his mission as an operative during the Temporal Cold War.

One of the few things Daniels said in Enterprise was that he was NOT a Starfleet officer. So for him to legitimately serve on an Enterprise he must have gotten his commission after his apperances on Enterprise tv show and served on the NCC-1701-W or whatever. Apparently his tricom badge shows that he's a commodore now.

They made the character into something they weren’t originally conceived as. Unless he was always meant to be Daniels from the start, it’s no different from Brannon Braga saying that FutureGuy was Archer all along, years after the fact, when that was definitely not the case.
