I would really like to have seen more about the Voth.
I'd like to see some of the first members of the Federation expanded upon. Enterprise did a bit with the Andorians and Tellarites, but I'd like to get some kind of canon with the first handful beyond that. Who joined up straight away? Alpha Centauri is considered to be the fifth member, are they a race or a human colony? Who was sixth; Denobulans? Deltans? Rigellians? Did a bunch of them join at the same time, or was it a slow start? Did anyone want to join but was turned down because another member vetoed their membership? Did the requirements for Federation membership change in any way in the first few decades after learning a few harsh lessons? Did anyone join and leave, threatening the whole thing so early on? What did other non-aligned worlds think of this new alliance building up on their doorstep, were 'classic' Federation members we know and love a bit anti-Federation when it started? So many questions.
I saw this article about the Orions being expanded upon through Tendi in Lower Decks and the Emerald Chain in Discovery:

It does seem like a lot of Star Trek alien races were expanded upon recently, Lower Decks made the Pakleds into a threat and Picard explored Romulan society and religion.
What do you think of these expansion on somewhat underdeveloped alien races in Star Trek and what other alien races would you like to see expanded upon?
That was Bring Your Sibling to Work Day so we only got to see half the Council. Just not enough chairs. The Excelsior was the only ship in the quadrant and couldn’t get there in time with more chairs. We see all the Federation members of the time in 2286, with the Federation council. There are no Denobulans or Rigellians present. However we do see Aammazarans, Arcadians, Ariolo, Bzzit Khaht, Caitians, Deltans, Kasheeta, Xelonites, and the unnamed purple skinned aliens. If Denobulans or Rigellians joined the federation they would have to share a planet with one of these species like the Andorians and Aenar.
Are you sure about that? Ariolo are apparently cenaturs according to lower decks, so they wouldnt need chairs. And then there's the how would they wear a starfleet uniform dilemmaThat was Bring Your Sibling to Work Day so we only got to see half the Council. Just not enough chairs. The other half were watching from the cafeteria. Or were supposed to but there was also the Parisses Squares Super Bowl that day (the Denobulan Starclimbers vs. the Rigel Hoverbirds), soooo...
My Gods, you’re right! There must be more to this chair conspiracy. I smell a Cartwright in this! Are you sure about that? Ariolo are apparently cenaturs according to lower decks, so they wouldnt need chairs. And then there's the how would they wear a starfleet uniform dilemma
IKR? And the worst part is those Orions from Season 1 looked *great*, but the ones in Season 3...what the hell was wrong with Tolor's face? The actor playing him does not look like that. To me it looks like they put a latex mask on him rather than painting (or colour correcting) him green.
I knew it! I speculated it was either that or badCGI, anyway, I thought it looked *terrible*. It just made them (and the Klingons and the Andorians) look very puffy in a bad way.And dopey, like cartoon villains.Correct. Both Tolor and his Aunt Osyraa were each given a thin, green latex face that widened the chin in an alien way.
Enterprise Orions were probably the best makeup wise, and is in sync with what was continued with the Kelvin movies and originated with the TOS episodes. Orions are just green people, no need to go further or somehow less than that.
I didn’t like the ENT Orions. The males I couldn’t take seriously, and the females looked like extras from Wicked.
Plus the whole the-women-were-in-charge-the-whole-time just seemed, well, misogynistic. Really? The slaves who were traded, raped, probably beaten and sometimes murdered...they were the ones in charge, huh? This from the same series that gave us de-con chamber gel massages, Vulcan catsuits, nipples, and bare asses, and a strange matriarchal (if not all female) race of evil sphere builders from another dimension here to happily kill us all.
I meant that the coloring was this bubblegum green they used in the musical. They looked fake, not biological. I didn’t have that big a problem with the Season 1 Orions. I was amazed to see them, so they were a treat. The green needed to be a little deeper, but it was not too bad for a first try.Oh their lore from Enterprise was awful, and was one of those things that just seems to try way to hard to be clever (oh you thought the Orion women were slaves? No! They are in charge!"
But the female Orions looked good, imho, and If they made the male Orions look more like them (like the Orion males in season 1) then it would have been a very good look for them.
I think it could have worked if they had established that there's just two subspecies of Orion (both male and female) one that is lithe and has pheromones and one that is bulky and doesn't (and who's immune to the pheromones).
As for extras form Wicked...I dunno if anybody looked like the Wicked Witch of the West it was
