That is sad. I hope he gets help and faces his demons. I would like to see him get his life together.

Wow. I remember when he got in trouble for assault on his girlfriend. He seriously needs an intervention. I hope it isn't too late for him. This just makes me really sad.

I often wonder what kinds of real-life Worf and Picard figures some of us may lack.... leading to situations like this.

I am happy to see that Wil Wheaton has not done the same. He is living a good clean married life.

The way this kid turned out is really, really sad. I have no idea why he decided to take such a drastic turn downwards, but I wonder if his family has given up or turned their backs on him.

According to anecdotal reports in the local paper here(yes, I live in Boulder), that's just what has happened. The Bonsall family is said to have attempted some kind of 'tough love' and it backfired. True or not, the guy is messed up, and needs an intervention of some kind.

Jon Steuer (the original Alexander) has turned out okay, or so his Memory Alpha page attests. Right, ending your acting career because you're afraid of your TV mother may not be the greatest move, but otherwise a mite luckier than his successor?

True, but Ms Butler did develope quite the reputation during her 'Grace Under Fire' run. Glad Steuer made it through okay. So many child actors seem to find the wrong path.
