Alaina Huffman (Tamara Johansen) is pregnant

Ignoring the preganancy and fiilming around it might be a bit difficult. I mean, on this show, how do they explain her absence for the episodes she'll be gone giving birth? Is the Destiny crew simply having a run of good luck and no one needs medical attention for a couple of weeks?

I was referring to camera angles and what not.

They can also restructure the production schedule and film her scenes when she she is able, like how they did with RDA. Considering filming for season 2 begins in February and won't air, presumably until the second half of 2010, that could work.

They could do a few episodes similar to "Air: Part 3" where they visit a plant to get vital supplies, and she stays on the ship. She could also be injured and bed ridden.

Is there something in the water at Gate Studios? Amanda Tapping, Lexa Doig, Claudia Black even Peter Deluise's wife had a child about the same time a few years ago.

Don't forget Rachel Lutrell.

There must be a Stargate daycare center in Vancouver now.

Not just Rachel, I forgot about David Hewett's wife, Jason's girlfriend and even Chris Judge's girlfriend had a baby recently. :cardie:
Did Joe Flanigan wife also have another baby at the same time has Hewett's wife?

I think it was pretty close. Joe and his wife name their son Fergus. He was born in Sept 06 and Hewlitt's son Sebastian was born on February 2007

It would certainly add another angle to the sub-plot concerning her character's desire to leave and go back to civilian life, but to bring that in might be perceived as sexist (she wasn't really going to a prestigious university, she was preggers!) Better to work around it if they can.

God I hope they just kill her off! She is my least favorite character of the characters, and after the Atlantis baby storyline they don't need a repeat.

Many shows work around it, shouldn't be hard, just show her breasts up, the Stargate fanbase will love that.

Congrats to Mrs. Huffman... speaking of this purely as a plot point, I don't think adding an infant to the mix is a good idea for the first season. Presumably, life will get more comfortable aboard Destiny as the season progresses. By next season, dealing with a kid would make more sense.

It'd be best to film around it. I hope they keep her involved, though. I like her character; she's cute and sweet.

Considering that the the first season is nearly completed with filming, even if they wanted to add it in for a plot point, it wouldn't be until season 2.

She's giving birth in December so it won't affect S2 but I really hope they don't make her pregnant on the show. It's not hard to ignore her pregnant belly for a few months.

I can't stand an another case of Pregnant Telya walking around has if it's normal. God I hated her and her pregnancy storyline.

Is it so hard to have an episode where she isn't standing in front of the camera? I'm not a writer but even I can think of a convient excuse not to show her pregnant. Have a team go to a planet but she isn't on the team. BOOM! No pregnant lady.

Whats not normal about a pregnant women walking around?

Stargate, the next generation.

She isn't the first pregant woman, you just have her sicking behind a desk, laying in bed, or whatever.

However they are pretty much done with filming this season anyways, with only a few episodes left, so it's no big deal for now.

^ Yeah, and by all reports, she'll give birth before the new season starts filming. This is a non-issue for the crew.
