Which is odd because, as we all know, Star Wars fans don't watch football.
Turns off TV before the Nerd Police catch on.
You know, I think it’s time for Lucas to do that Flash Gordon film he wanted to do way back when.
I think he's well and truly done with making movies these days. They might tempt him out of retirement with a limited series . . . but I doubt it. Also of all the projects he might do, I doubt a Flash Gordon adaptation would interest him. He's already said anything and everything that might entail through Star Wars, and he hates repeating himself, creatively.
So I have a wild theory that won't possibly be true. Baylan is from the future. He travelled back in time through the world between worlds. He mentioned a few episodes back that his purpose to bring back Thrawn is for the future. That's because he comes from a time where the First Order decimated the new republic as we saw in TFA. But who is he really? How does he know Anakin? Because he is Sors Bandeam!
Meh. Time travel is not a thing in SW. At least, not so far.
Reminds me of all the fan theories I saw around the internet when I was first finding my way with Star Wars chats and bulletin board systems, like theforce-dot-net site. It was speculated that Lucasfilm would be sold to Disney and Disney would use some measure to undo the PT.

While we're melting our brains over the WBW, consider this; if it is indeed the netherworld of the force - a place where time has no meaning - that means that not only is everyone we know to be a "force ghost" in there, but everyone who ever will be. That means Ahsoka could already be in there (assuming that's her destiny), as could Luke, Leia, and possibly Rey.
Also since The Father pulled the same disappearing act (but not the Son & the Daughter), he's likely among their number too.
As for how Ahsoka got into it this time; I'm thinking now that it runs on similar rules as the Spirit World from the Avatar/Legend of Korra universe. That is one can visit it physically by literally stepping though a gateway (as Ezra & Ahsoka did), or (for want of a better term) though astral projection while the body remains on the physical plain. The latter of which being how Ahsoka got there on Seatos, and I suspect how Ezra got there the first two times he visited the Lotal temple.
The giveaway appears to be the gates; when Ezra got his kyber crystal, and alter when he saw Yoda: no gates. Same when Ahsoka saw Anakin. They only appeared when we know for a fact people where there physically.
This could also tie into why Palatine was so desperate to get in there; one would imagine that kind of astral projection would be impossible for a dark side user. Their focus in always inwards, they may not even be able to perceive the cosmic force in the same way. To them it may just be raw power; like staring into the sun. They'll always try to grasp at it, incapable of letting go and allowing the force to take them instead. A physical gateway could be the only way they could access it.
Moreover you're assuming time travel is even possible through voidspace. All we know is that people can enter it through an opened gateway, be pulled into it through a gateway on the other side, and return through the gate they entered. We've never seen anyone be truly temporally displaced. Ahsoka seemed to think it best to return from whence she came, rather than to step through with Ezra.

So then how did Huyang recognise his saber and know his name? Plus as noted above, only The Father vanished upon death. The Son and Daughter's bodies remained, meaning they probably didn't retain their individuality after death (though fragments of the Son may have lingered in the Dark Side . . . or he could have just been echoing Maul's madness I suppose; it's not like time means much to him.)

It's been confined to the cartoons so far.
They seem hesitant to let it out to run rampant in the live-action sphere, for whatever reason.
It is unconfirmed if that was time travel. Both Ezra and Ahsoka were in the World Between World. But both of them went back to their respective times. So we don't know if Ahsoka could have gone with Ezra to Present Lothal, or if Erza could have completely stepped out into the Sith Temple in the Past. The image of Kanan on the fuel tank was a trap by Palpatine, as was Ezra's parents later on.
The question is, what does Palpatine gain from these traps? It is speculated that you can control the universe via the World Between Worlds, but the question is, how? Is it related to the Lothwolves fast travel? Can one use it to know all and see all? Can one actually mess with time when its not a closed loop? Did Ezra always save Ahsoka, or did Ahsoka always survive her fight with Vader and Ezra just pulled her out anyway (did she dodge/drop out of Vader's swing the first time and limp away like see in the original episode, or did Ezra always pull her out and she came back to limp back into the temple?) These are questions we will probably never fully get.

Mostly fluff and talking heads, but it's interesting to see how they used the volume a little differently on this one: a white screen with tracking markers. Not sure how easy that would have been to key out, but I look forward to the inevitable corridor crew episode about it . . .
Speaking of tracking markers; unless I missed something, I noticed there were none on Hayden's face while filming the fight. It's possible the freakishly good de-aging on this one may be down as much to old fashioned make-up artistry as any digital work.
I hope they put some real effort into the Disney Gallery release for this show. The last Mando offering seemed rather phoned in.

I can see Jacen being sensitive such a thing, but Hera? Sorry, you're welcome to your own interpretation of the scene, but I don't buy it.
Pretty sure these were filmed for it, but are being released now because there’s not actors or writers to do interviews to hype it up because of the strike
