Spoilers AHSOKA series [Spoiler Discussion]

It's actually pretty shitty storytelling to needlessly withhold crucial information from the audience for no reason. This was originally supposed to air as one episode with a week gap before the "explanation."

If Sabine is an expert in deciphering magic maps, that's not something you hold in your back pocket for no damn reason, particularly when the entire story hinges on it. "Ooh, scary bad guy might come back! This seemingly random, unrelated thing will tell us how....eventually!" The audience shouldn't be so far behind the characters.

Even in serialized storytelling, a single episode should still be able to function.

It's not my fault that they don't know how to write properly.

Just a thought..
People ( some journalists) are saying When did Ahsoka and Sabine train together? It wasn't in rebels.. in the episode, said its been years since they split.
So at a guess, the finale shown in Rebels are there first meeting, and they got together to see if they can find anything about Ezra, and after some time, Ahsoka gives up, and Sabine goes back to Lothal.

Except the scene of them meeting after she cuts her hair is a near remake of that final rebels scene.

Not entirely. No white cape and hood, nor a staff.

I read that scene as a spiritual sequel to the one we saw in the Rebels epilogue, which occurred years before Ahsoka.

^ Damn near frame for frame!

Overall, watching the 2 episodes as one long, single episode actually made the plot and pacing flow better. Was I completely blown away by what I watched? No, not really, but I was entertained and will be back for more next week. 7.5/10

I like how the premiere episode is set on the 7th Anniversary of the Fall of the Empire, so I'm guessing that would be the seventh anniversary of the Battle of Endor unless the New Republic calendar recognizes the victory at the Battle of Jakku as the day the Empire truly fell?

Maybe, maybe not. Until it's explicitly stated otherwise (i.e. by Dave), that's how I'm interpreting that scene. I don't mind if others read it differently.

Thats my thoughts, its the anniversery of Jakku, or shortly there after when the Empire surrendered, so that makes it 12 years ABY, which lines up with Mando, saying Grogu was with Luke for over a year.

EDIT: Btw, I have to say that the CGI is On point.. Looking great! and I can't tell if the Lothcat is real or CG

I think Sabine might be the first person we've seen survive a saber run-through. The actress is knocking it out of the park.

Actually the Grand Inquisitor and Reva both did in Obi-wan Kenobi.

So, General Syndulla is my new favorite Star Wars character. I loved that scene where she demanded access to the file. "Wanna bet?"

If you've never seen the Rebels animated TV show, you ought to give it a look. Hera is an awesome character, and den mother of the crew. It also tracks her character arc from leader of a single, small rebel cell to an eventual mover and shaker in the greater Rebel Alliance.

I thought I'd give it a go but I just thought it was slow - even looking at the comments here much of it is about how it's great to see old character X,Y and Z. I've never seen rebels so none of that works for me.

Pretty much this. I did try watching Rebels but lost interest after a few episodes.

Shoot. Is it necessary to watch the clone wars to?

I've only watched the first episode - knew very little about it going in. It's hard to get past how it's presented, as though I ought to already be invested in these characters. I'm not. I recognise them, but beyond that ... well, I'm familiar with Ahsoka, having watched Clone Wars.

It was okay, but seeing that it's basically a live-action extension of a show I haven't watched is a letdown. I'd have hoped for a fresh story.

Aside from another season of Andor, I think the only thing that might perk my interest in Wars again is a story set far, far away from the Skywalkers.

Rebels had a very rough start for me and it took me a few seasons to start getting into it. Darth Vader appearing in the ABC network television edit of the premiere episode was the main thing that interested me in the early days of the series. By the third season, though, the series had taken off and developed its own strong voice as a worthy chapter of the franchise.

It's hard to imagine the show not existing. It's become integral with much of the current Disney Era phase of the franchise.
