Agents of SHIELD: Season 6

His little ring teleporter thing was cool.
Just thinking about it, these Chronicoms have been all over the universe studying other species for millions of years, so it's no surprise that they've picked up some top-notch technology along the way.

Of course, then 3 of them got beat up by Daisy pretty easily, but whatchu gonna do? That's how tv shows work.

Speaking of, Daisy really had some pretty concentrated single-bone-breaking kind of attacks going on. That's some legit could-have-used-her-in-the-battle-against-Thanos type of power right there.

Okay, this was a pretty fun space adventure, even if it didn't address the lack of light bulb technology in spacefaring civilizations. I hope nothing happens to Enoch, because he's a great addition to the cast and a great BFF for Fitz. His existential despair when he was decommissioned by the Chronicoms was hilarious.

I also got a kick out of the Agents of STONED. For a minute, I was afraid that the guy agent was going to be killed, but luckily they didn't go that route, leaving nothing to compromise the fun. Kind of cute that the girls were literally under the table. And I loved Gemma aiming Daisy's quake blast for her. :rommie:

And Gemma actually met a nice alien who was concerned for her well being-- so, of course, he got flattened by the cell door when Fitz escaped. And, because nothing can be that easy on SHIELD, he was immediately kidnapped by the Chronicom Hunter with the ring-toss teleporter. It looks like their journey ends never and their Star Trek will go on forever.

And, man, Fitz painting the cell door with the sulfurous blood of the dead alien's amputated arm.... :rommie:

Why does everyone in the galaxy speak English, again (that is everyone but about half our own Earth)? Did I miss something? A leftover technology of our heroes going to the future last season and returning with the universal translator?

Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel established that translation is a commonplace technology in the interstellar community.

That's what I'm assuming. Everyone received universal translators at some point in 2091. Fitz's provided by Enoch and everyone else's provided by the Kree/their mining bosses. They just don't do the written word, as seen with Jemma and the inscription on the cryo chamber.

Unless that's contradicted on-screen. Then fuck if I know.

It sorta was. Piper reads something off a tablet at one point and passes it to not-Dokachin, who confirms what she saw.

Anyway, this episode also confirms that AoS is in the same universe as Babylon 5! The pit boss at the high stakes table was wearing a uniform first made and seen in "Crusade", the ones everyone hated but had to wear for five episodes before they were retroactively replaced. How 'bout that?

If shared wardrobe equals shared universe, then Star Trek happens in the universe of Gilligan's Island's dream sequences.

Just watched the first episode.

Whilst the show has been a long term disappointment to me, I'll no doubt continue watching for completeness sake, and must admit, episode one was a lot less annoying than the future arc was last season. I've been finding it a real slog to get through, but am quite looking forward to the next episode and as there's less episodes this season, maybe it won't drag.

I hope they're not too far through productJon to tweak something we the Thanos 'snap' be it establishing a separate time line of addressing the situation otherwise.

They make up for their lack of hearing by being able to see better in the dark? ;)
Perhaps they've all developed a radar sense.

That's what I'm assuming. Everyone received universal translators at some point in 2091.
Whenever they're in space, everyone's lip movements should not match their dialogue, as if they're being dubbed. :rommie:

That would put a lot of canon debates to rest.
Everything we've seen has been Gilligan's dream. Gilligan is God.

I've always thought "the Earth was used up" was a euphemism. The succession of supervillains over the decades must have finally succeeded in making Earth uninhabitable by the time of Firefly. :techman:

Naahh... In tokusatsu, the Earth has a reset button. No matter how much devastation is wrought over the course of a season, everything is back to normal by the start of the next. In extreme cases, the city will be half-destroyed and then be intact again by the end of the same episode.

Indeed, in the current season of Power Rangers, they've tapped into the Morphin Grid, the source of all Rangers' powers, and adapted it as a green energy source. So the Rangers now fight global warming as well as global conquest.

Well, that was .... something. Knew half the twists before they happened. HaloDaisy was funny. This season has been spinning its wheels so far, next week looks interesting
