Agents of SHIELD season 5

I really hope they “save” Talbot rather than kill him. That poor guy has suffered enough.

I wonder if there's any rhyme or reason about when they don't use the title card and just flash "Agents of SHIELD" over the screen. I suppose the action was already in space looking at Earth...

Well, the first half-season's title card was showing us the aftermath of what had happened -- the Earth a shattered ruin. The second half-season's title card was showing us what would happen -- the Earth starting to break apart. This time, the title was over Graviton heading to Earth, where he would no doubt destroy it in the attempt to get that buried gravitonium. So it's not the past or the future anymore -- it's begun. It's now.

Or, it could simply be that the episode ran a bit long and they saved a few seconds by not showing a separate title card.

I would love to see that happen for May's reaction alone.
Or, for an extra surprise twist, they let him die...and then his body reverts to it's natural Skrull form...and then that other thing I can't be bothered to make a spoiler box for happens. ;)

Oh, man, now that would be wild! It would confuse the hell out of the general audience, but I say it's worth it!

Dude, no Captain Marvel spoilers. ;)

They advertised it as a season finale.... hope that still holds true and NOT a series one... Will this also have another serious Infinity Wars tie-in? (Other than wiping out people)

Wait a second. Last week's episode was the season finale? They aren't going to end on a cliffhanger are they?

Probably being hopeful.

Lucifer was advertised as a season final prior to being canned this week built at least AoS has a final that was written to serve as a series or season finale according to a earlier post so they can wrap things up.

I wish they would stop these season finales with them saying that a character is going to die. It's rather repetitive.

That was a great moment with May and Coulson in the heat of battle. "I thought that would shut you up." :rommie: And then Daisy: "Copy that, Hot Lips." :rommie:

And Deke came to the rescue not once, but twice. He doesn't seem very popular with the audience, but I hope he sticks around if they get another season. And he knows "zero." :mallory:

But poor Talbot has totally lost it in his hopes to be the hero who saves the world and impresses his son. Unfortunately, his damaged brain is high on power and he doesn't know what he's doing. I find it interesting that he says he can't trust his wife anymore because she was the one who read the trigger command to him over the phone, because at the time I wasn't sure if she was doing it knowingly or not-- and I'm still not entirely sure. She could have been HYDRA all along.

And even as May and Deke singlehandedly, or doublehandedly, defeat the alien invaders, Mack proves again what he brings to the team by figuring out Talbot and where he would go when everyone else has just written him off as being in full-on villain mode. He just wants to "make things right."

Now it's down to the wire as we see what Future YoYo was talking about when she said to let Coulson die-- it would have been nice if she had offered a few more details. But thanks to the shortage of the centipede serum, it comes down to a choice between Talbot and Coulson. I wonder if they could substitute inchworm serum.

There was a disturbing hint that he's had the potential to be an abusive husband/father all along. What he said to his wife when he smashed his son's toy -- "Look what you made me do" -- gave me a chill, since it's the classic line of the abuser, placing the blame for his own actions on the people who suffer from them.

No, it seemed pretty clear at the time that she was being pressured by Hale's people to read the script. As she said here, they told her that it would help Glenn.

ABC announces it's Fall schedule tomorrow so hopefully we'll get news about the fate of the show by then.
Well...I hope its not like "oh that SEASON finale...it is actually the series." And no time to spread the word...but I guess the finale rating wouldn't make a difference....

Alhough it seems as though she may have been misled more than coerced. Hale's people presumably identified themselves as representing the U.S. military, not Hydra.
