Agents of SHIELD season 5

I thought that it was Japanese for rock paper scissors.

Wikipedia says it might be, but it might also be French.
Could be Japanese, but definitely French. It was the name of the French military leader who led French troops (along with Americans) to victory in the siege of Yorktown during the Revolutionary War. The French leader's name was Comte de Rochambeau, pronounced "ro sham bo" (at least by some Americans).

This little history break brought to you courtesy of Lin-Manuel Miranda. :)

Well, Jemma seems to be taking the invincibility thing pretty literally in this episode...not as a metaphor of her relationship with Fitz.

ETA: Very literally!

Hello, time to admit she was being literal.

Yeah, that scene was intense. Actually, the whole episode was pretty intense.

Surprised by the actors they got to appear for the final scene.

I wanted to believe that all four beakers had water...but nooo...Jemma really has gone just as loopy as Leo and Yo-Yo.

Yo-Yo seriously betrayed Mack's trust and Mack being Mack is not going to forgive easily, even if he loves her. That's our second betrayal in just a few episodes. Things come in threes...and I worry who will be the third betrayer.

Talbot might be a bit loopy thanks to imprisonment and torture, but he still fully understands one thing: Combat. He snapped to like the service member that he is and was able to rescue Phil with experienced ease. It was rather sweet how he freaked out about Phil's condition and ordered Creel around to save Phil's life.

Speaking of sweet, May is becoming more and more of an ol' softie. :D

It was wonderful to see Raina one last time, even it was for a flashback stinger!

They should slow down the plot and give us a Coulson/Talbot buddy road story arc.
Gods, that would be amazing. They've always made a great pair, but this episode was especially fun. Talbot is so lovable when he's not doing to whole angry at everything shtick.

I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing Franklin Hall again, if they were only able to bring him back through stock footage. But they could get the Quinn actor back, and something tells me he'll be filling the Graviton role.

That final scene was actually a deleted scene from season one: https://twitter.com/MarkKolpack/status/982526924235800577
I did wonder about that. Matching the footage so closely to what was shot almost half a decade ago seemed unlikely, as did getting those two actors back for just that one scene. I just got through rewatching the first season only a few days ago so that episode is fairly fresh in the memory.

It does raise the question as to what Raina did next that resulted in the gravitonium finding it's way on a boat, heading back to Hydra.
