Agents of SHIELD season 5

I'm kind of disappointed by that.

I've felt pretty underwhelmed by AOS but quite liked season four, which I recently binge watched. I'm struggling with season five though - I'm finding it near unwatchable. It's about time to give it a humane finish.

Then don't watch it. During this season of Arrow, I found my interest in the show deflate like a balloon in-between one episode and the next for no other reason than I had the realization that I was bored with it. I didn't even bother to "struggle" with it, I just stopped watching.

That's the sensible option.

I'm a bit of a Marvel completist though and I've seen the rest...

Well if you sat through all of 'Inhumans' without slipping into a coma, one more season on AoS won't kill you. Hell, even at it's season 3 nadir, AoS was at least ten times as entering as that snooze-fest of a show. Also arguably; 'Iron Fist'.

Can't actually say why, but I actually enjoyed Inhumans more than I'm enjoying season five...

If it does come back for a Season 6 they seriously need to incorporate more costumed elements that Marvel has to offer. Season 2 with a developing Deathlok and Season 4 with Ghost Rider have been my two favorite seasons.

Damn, I only barely made it through episode 1 without falling asleep and about 60% of the rest of the season got fast-forwarded (which is not something I ever do normally.) Season 5 of AoS has been pretty good so far IMO. Not quite as fun as season 4 but that seems mostly due to how contained the scope has felt, which I'm sure is a result of heavy budget cuts.

There's like a dozen other shows about costumed heroes. AoS is the only one about super spies that coexist in a superhero world a deal with all the weird crazy shit that goes on around the periphery and that's a huge part of it's charm.

Certainly, but both Deathlok and Ghost Rider have been largely successful and I think most fans would love to see more of them working alongside our cast of spies. I've been particularly clamoring for more Deathlok since season two.

That aren't Marvel characters. I enjoy those but I want my Marvel Network TV ante increased.

We have two of the Secret Warriors on the team, one of whom is getting her robotic arms.

If they wanted another costumed superhero show then better to design one from the ground up...which they did with 'Inhumans' and it sucked.

The thing with those two is that they're both lone-wolf type characters. Fun for guest appearances, but not well suited as regulars.
Speaking of regulars: what happens to FitzSimmons, May, Coulson and Mac if the show becomes 'The Junior Avengers'? Relegating them to a supporting role only seems like a massive step backwards at this point. It's a true ensemble show after all, not just "Quake And Friends".

So Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, The Runaways and Cloak & Dagger aren't Marvel characters now? Isn't there also one or two X-Men related shows?

DD is really the only one in a costume.
JJ, LC and the rest of the Netflix Defenders are in street clothes. I've not seen Runaways. The trailers though are them in regular clothes as is Cloak and Dagger. Legion on FX is a non-costume show as is Gifted(X-men shows) from what I've seen of that show. I expect when Punisher comes back we'll get the skull but we didn't get much of it in S1 as I hoped.

...Season 2 with a developing Deathlok ...

Michael Peterson/Deathlok was introduced and largely developed through season one, not two. He only appeared in (I think) 4 episodes in S2, showing up to pull Coulson and Hunter's ass out of the fire from Gonzalez's SHIELD team at the SHIELD safe-house.

TVGuide has a little piece (including quotes from Jed Whedon) about how the events of Avengers Infinity War will affect Coulson's team. Nothing spoilery, aside from what we won't be seeing on the series (hint: no Chris Pratt showing up).

I finally watched all of last week's episode this morning.
Wow, Ian De Caestecker really knocked it out of the part there.
The big reveal with The Doctor was not what I expected, once Ivanov showed back up I thought maybe he was going to somehow be an LMD.
I'm actually pretty happy to be getting a new Hydra story as our potential last arc. I tend to think of Hydra as the main nemesis for S.H.I.E.L.D., so it feels right to get one (potentially) last big story focused on them before the show ends.
