Will the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-AAA come and change my warp coils if they fail on a trip??? Toe my starship if I suddenly find myself in need of ejecting my warp core to seal a rip in the cosmos? How often will I have to re-register with Starfleet and are the rates reasonable?
Are you a Klingon on a diplomatic mission? why not rent an Enterprise rent-a ship?
On a side note... i always wondered why Archer didn't ask: "what about that stupid letter after the name? What's that all about?" when Daniel told him the sips name.

I'm thinking that Captain Morgan Bateson and/or Commander Worf will be given the Enterprise-E after Picard's semi-retirement, the X.O. left on the "Nemesis" cutting room floor will be brought aboard in another capacity, after Bateson's own crew (including his ex-X.O.) Gabriel Bush is given the Sabre-Class U.S.S. Bozeman-A.
After the Ent-E are the Century-class Ent-F and Eclipse-class Ent-G as designed by Bridge Commander modder DJ Curtis.
Urgh, that comment has really pissed me off since it first cropped up.
In the span of....100ish years? 2266 (First Season of TOS) to 2373(Year of FC, Enterprise E had been in space for a Year), so 107 years there was 6 ships named Enterprise.
Now, "Countdown" took place in 2387, lets assume that the E keeps going till the early 25th Century, that only leaves 4 Enterprises to be "got through" for a possible 150 years before we get to J which is established as being a 26th Century starship.

And look at this, A timeline shear back at the start of the whole mess. That one appears clean so far.

Raymond: The Enterprise seems to attact the terminally reckless in the fleet. And they keep replacing the damned thing. The Intrepid hasn't had this many replacements.
