After the Ent-E?

No one refers to it by the letter, the letter is part of the registry

Except for in First Contact when both Geordi and Beverly call the ship "the Enterprise-E".

If you can't figure out that it was done for the benefit of the audience, then help is beyond you.

Do you really think Picard tells a new race, "This is Picard of the USS Enterprise-E"?

The name of that Sovereign class vessel is "Enterprise", get over it.

:wtf: Wow...don't over-react now...

No, Picard probably wouldn't say that, but that wasn't the point you made above. You claimed that "no one refers to it by letter". Looking in-universe, in official capacities, yes, you are correct; Picard would just say "Enterprise". However, in First Contact they did refer to it twice as the "Enterprise E" (once towards the beginning of the movie and again towards the end), both in unoffical, somewhat casual conversation.

I pointed this out and you respond by flaming me and claiming that was only done for the sake of the audience. However, my point is still valid as they did refer to it as the "Enterprise-E", though probably just informally, regardless of the intentions of the writers.

In any event, you are taking something very minor and stretching it to a inane point and getting overly defensive towards those who point out a counter-example. Perhaps you should take your own advice and "get over it."

That's cause he is sad no refers to him as "EmperorTiberius B". :(

But what after the Enterprise-J?

I love to see an Enterprise-F that was more boldly going then boldly shooting like the 1701-E.

To me the name and registry go hand and hand, you can't have one without the other. Now that doesn't go for everyone, but for me, that's how I see it. If there is an Enterprise then there needs to be the 1701 right after it. (I'm not including Archer's Enterprise).

Clearly, there must be Enterprises after Picard, but after reading this thread, I've come to the conclusion that it would be cool for the NCC-1701 registry to finish with Picard's Enterprise.

New registry after the E-E. Why not? Nobody complained about Archer's NX-01 registry. It can be done.

( Also - hated the design of the -J, but then you would dislike the design of something futuristic, wouldn't you? Because it's just too far ahead of your own time. The Victorian's would hate all modern styles)

I think the F should be glossy and pearly white with no seams. :adore:
I always like the idea of a smaller ship, with a tighter crew. The Enterprise E was smaller than the Enterprise D. The new ship should indeed be glossy, white skined and seam-less, and look like a nude Deanna Troi, with the nacelles on the end of her legs. The nacelles would, of course, have to be wide apart.

So they'll continue the proud tradition of looking like shit started by the Enterprise-E!

Not in terms of length etc. The E is longer than the D.

I don't get this letter thing. Navy ships have been named Enterprise for centuries and there has been no damned A B C D E or anything else for that matter. However, registry numbers did change. CV-6 for the WWII ship and the current nuclear version CVE-65 are examples.
