Aerial View of Possible Star Trek Sets in L.A.

What the hell is going on in that scene???
I'm trying to think of a possible scenario, based on what we know, but I'm drawing blank.

I really want to think it might be Rigel VII, maybe? The planet from the cage where Pike got to fight the big angry savages? They never said if it was just Pike trapped on the planet, or if there was an away team there too.

Obviously there were members of a landing party, as there were people who were wounded aboard the Enterprise, and Pike was all upset about it.

Sure they did:

BOYCE: What's been on your mind, Chris, the fight on Rigel 7?

PIKE: Shouldn't it be? My own yeoman and two others dead, seven injured.

More than that, they showed at least some of the seven injured. Spock was walking with a limp, I think one of the other crewmen was wearing a sling.

Now all we need to figure out is what sort of situation entails Sulu in a space suit fighting some black dude with an axe, and a huge rusty dish.

I'm guessing the black guy is a sith lord and the rusty dish is the bottom of a power shaft.

...Ok, I got nothing. Is Abrams screwing with the camera people? "Hey, there's some guys with cameras! Joe, grab an axe and attack Sulu! Everyone pretend we're rehearsing!"

I see nothing whatsoever to indicate that this is indeed the Star Trek set.

Coming into this a little later.. but TrekMovie had confirmed this to be from the new Trek Movie.

Now we see more and more pics confirming this.

I thought of the "Deflector dish" possibly, but I have serious doubts it is. But could be wrong.

What about some sort of Sulu introduction?

Maybe this is where we meet Sulu, doing some sort of sword fighting in a training excersise. Cue Jim Kirk turning up and asking him to join the crew of the Enterprise.

Works for me.

Neat! It's going to be fun seeing how these spy pics fit into the actual story when we finally get to see the movie.
