Well the USS Kelvin is an earlier starship, so I am wondering what its computer interface looks like. They could reuse the UI from Enterprise, or it could be different.

In reality I don't think the human eye should be able to see a ship traveling faster than light speed. I just finished watching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and the scene where they slingshot around the sun and Sulu is counting how fast they are going. I think at warp 9 they should whip around the sun faster than he is able to count what speed they are at.
So this is an area that they need to take great poetic license with.

I wasn't actually being serious. I realise that it's not realistic, and hence needs to rely on heavy (and sole) use of CGI.

What I'm saying is that other aspects of the visual effects look like something that could be real if it was possible to happen. They have weight, depth and in the case of the ships, weathering. Having said that, when we see the ship in warp the actual warp effect seems like splashes of bright CGI colour.

Nice, but the computer didn't speak a whole lot. It doesn't have the stilted delivery she did for the TOS computer if that's what you're asking.

They're a new and different design also, but they do have some similarities to ENT and TNG monitors.

Plenty of both and fans should really like the Kobyashi Maru scene.
Well there are comm panels etc around the place but nothing else is given any significant screen time that I can recall.

For those who have seen it: How "science-fiction'y is it ? I'm fine with a Star Wars-esque action movei but the producers said they were inspired by Prime Directive- is there any real big sci-fi payoff like the end of that novel or 2001 or Federation or something generally like, 'Wow, that was good sci-fi' in term of big ideas, big concepts? Hopefully that makes sense. Like intelligent solar systems. Big ideas. Arthur Clarkean.

That makes sense that the computer sounds more like it does in TNG than the robotic TOS voice. The Enterprise in the new timeline seems to be built nearly 20 years after the one in TOS. So it's a bit more up to date.

Hardly. Anakin-as-Vader was an afterthought. The movie Star Wars, the huge popularity of which being the only reason that Lucas has his empire, was about the good guys versus the bad guys.
Oh, and notes that didn't make it to the screen don't matter for beans. The movie is the movie is the movie.

I personally prefer the Prequels to the original, and on par with Empire and Jedi.
I like the mythical, Jedi V Sith aspect, and the downfall of Anakin and the Jedi, more than space fights and explosions.
I think it was why I liked DS9's religious tangent, and why I prefer the science of Star Trek and the fantasy in Star Wars.
I also like Lord of the Rings and The Legend of Zelda, so that may explain my preferences.
