Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

Perhaps Blalock can appear as another conquest of Kirk's before the Enterprise leaves.

Remember guys, she'd be 170 years old.

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

I like to see the time line REPAIRED. Thus not making Spock look like a doofus for allowing 6 million Vulcans to die.

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

I'd like to see Carol Marcus, and you can do pretty much anything with that story since, in addition to this being a new timeline, The Wrath of Khan gave us very little of her history other than that Kirk knocked her up at some point.

Kristen Bell as anything would be great!

Now that we have Zoe Saldana as Uhura, I wouldn't be averse to a repeat of the fan dance from The Final Frontier.:p

But in all seriousness, I'd like to see them do a straight up cold war story with the Klingons. I never felt they did enough of that on the original series.

That's been Trek's weakness for 20 years. It's not happening.

I would like to have old spock fix the time line as he should have in the first place.

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

Star Trek needs more women.

Re: Would anyone like to see T'Pol in the next movie?

I really like the idea of T'Pau (not necessarily T'Pol, though) coming back and being some kind of help to Spock Prime in establishing the colony. Oh, and really there could be a lot more than 10,000 throughout the Federation. So there's a lot of writing/creative space for any character needed.

i sorta wonder if tpau was the elderly female vulcan rescued.

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

It'd be neat to see the "Doomsday Machine"--or an entire armada of them--threaten all the Federation worlds. Throw in a crazed Matt Decker for a battle of wills with Kirk and the Enterprise....I'd pay to see it.....

Re: Characters you would like to see show up in the Alternate Timeline

6. Wasn't McCoy supposed to have a daughter named Johanna? It might be interesting to work her in somewhere, McCoy needs some character development.

Ya, but this is Star Trek. Only sons matter in this universe.

Demora Sulu, Deanna Troi, Commander Sela, Lal, Molly O'Brien, Kes, Seven of Nine, and Naomi Wildman would like to have a word with you...

Here's my list.

1. Number One! I'd introduce her as being the only cadet to legitimately beat the no-win scenario without cheating. That'd probably throw Kirk through a loop.

Really? It's not a legitimate no-win scenario (thus illegitimating said win) if it can be beaten without cheating. That was the whole point; anyone who would attempt to beat it legitimately wouldn't be able to, and cheating defeats its purpose. Congratulations, you've just created a Mary Sue, thus setting back your own cause of fully-realized competent female characters.

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

Man I love the new direction they have taken the universe. They must build the Kirk/Spock/McCoy dynamic. the dooms day machine was cool, the remastered version was even better. Maybe have romulous/vulcans/earth join forces. Make klingons a super nasty enemy(more so than they have been) that hi-jacks a dooms day machine with intentions of using it on them. I always thought the klingons should have been really really bad. We need a super battle!!

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

I have no wish to load myself up with expectations that's the surest road to disappointment. I'm all for revisiting old ideas - with a new twist, that's part fun of revisiting these people at this point in their lives combined with an altered universe out of sync with what we already know takes place in Universe A.

Eh, I don't think a Doomsday Machine would translate well today...regardless of how fancy the CGI is.

I get that. But in today's current political climate, with Kim Jong Ill (I so rone-ree!!) setting off nukes and launching new missle systems, and Iran (supposedly) two and a half minutes from getting their first A-bombs, and the ginned-up media spectre that "terrorists" are hiding suitcase nukes up in my landlady's cooch, I kinda like the doomsday weapon scenario. The added plus is, of course, that these things (as previously seen) are simply, coldly, programmed to destroy--and cannot be bought-off or reasoned with. It could be good, if done with the right tone and execution....

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

Here's a suggestion for updating the Romulans, if that's the route Abrams goes for the next movie: Lose the cloaking devices. Instead, have the Romulans use ships designed with stealth technology analogous to the U.S. Air Force's Stealth fighters and bombers. Unlike with a cloaking device, stealth ships wouldn't be entirely invisible; every once in a while you might detect a momentary unidentified blip here and there, or the ship might become more completely visible the closer you get to it. Maybe even make their hulls black, a la the Scimitar in Nemesis.

The advantages (from the Romulans' perspective) to conventional stealth tech instead of cloaking tech are that (1) stealth would be akin to having a cloaking device that's always switched on, and (2) they wouldn't have to pour so much power into a cloaking device, thus allowing more power for propulsion, weapons etc, quite possibly making for a considerably more dangerous foe overall. Recall that in "Balance of Terror" Spock noted that the power cost of operating a cloaking device was so great it was previously thought to be impractical. Perhaps in this timeline the Romulans also concluded it was impractical, so they went the stealth route instead.

Actually, I have a half-developed "Balance of Terror" redux story in my head that would use such a Romulan stealth ship. Don't be surprised if it eventually turns up in the Fan Fiction section... ;)

Actually, I'd be interested in seeing Romulans not as the bad guys. We've had two movies starring nutty Romulans (sorta) as the bad guys. Course, they haven't really done right by the Star Empire as actual antagonists either, since, again, Shinzon and Nero don't exactly count as stirling examples of Romulan society... So a Balance of Terrro redux might not be bad.

Maybe in this universe the Feds and Romulans can go down the route that the Feds and Klingons did in the Prime verse? Especially after Nero's rampage and the obvious Fed. questions to follow. Sorta akin to "The Chimes at Midnight" novella except

the unfortunate story devolution where the Genesis Device deployment becomes a blatant stand-in for the end of WW2
