Even though it isnt Canon, the DC Fontana scritped (least I think it was) game Star Trek Legacy had the borgs origins as V'Ger, the original probe got sucked into a - you guessed it - Black hole! and - you guessed it - went back in time, to some advanced machine race who sent it out to learn all it could, only when it did learn all it could, it needed greater capacity to store that or some such, and started using more human hosts against their will, and eventually became the Borg.
I Think.
Since I totally believe the producers are going to bring her into the next movie in someway...
And what brings you to this conclusion?

Producers (like JJ) who are smart and want to lure in oldtime fans, and yet satisfy new ones...
Only time will tell..

I love this plan. No, no, no... Carol Marcus!!!
I think she looks alot more like Majel; a younger, hotter version. And Majel's look is a tough one to replicate.

NO BORG. Its been done to death (literally). They worked well for TNG, but that was it. If someone wants Borg, they can watch VOY. The movies that follow need to keep with what has worked with this one. Keep it fun.
Again, that relies on the faulty premise that this movie belongs to the same universe/timeline. It doesn't. A radically redesigned Borg, keeping the malovolence and intimidation there, would not be redoing the Borg you think of. Again, Klingons, Cardassians, Andorians, and Romulans all exist in this new timeline, and they've had more stories than the Borg in the other one. So why aren't those considered rehashing while a radically redesigned Borg would be?
Picture Size: Images are to be no larger than 640X480. We would also like you to bear in mind our users on dial-up and keep the image filesize as close to 70 KB as possible. Obviously, the image size rules are more relaxed in threads that have a warning in the title that there are large images, such as caption threads or member photo threads.
Hotlinking: You may only post pictures which are hosted by you. If you see a picture online and it doesn't violate that sites copyright restrictions, please save the image locally, then upload it to your photo hosting space on the Web (i.e. your own personal website, or a hosting service like flickr, ImageShack or Photobucket). Do not post a picture that is hosted on any other website or webspace that isn't yours (this is known as hotlinking).
Large or hotlinked images will be edited out of posts or turned into links, and users posting them may receive warnings.
I dont think she has any purpose in this timeline (since there won't be a David).
No way they'll introduce a son, especially with a younger Kirk.

I get that you like the Borg and the idea of re-hashing them. I liked them too, back in the day. The thing is, this Star Trek movie somehow managed to recapture the possitive and hopeful feel that TOS had all those years ago. I'm a life long fan and have seen every episode of every series. What I hadn't been able to put my finger on until I saw the movie was just how far away from that feel Trek has come. I'm quite alright with sticking to the formula that made Trek a big thing in the first place for a while.
I'd like to see Finnegan cause some problems for ole Jimmy boy. Possibly with Finnegan as Captain of another ship.

You never know, it might be kinda hip to introduce Jim Kirk: Family Man. Look at how awesomely it reinvigorated the Superman franchise.
There is a site out there that looks at faces and matches them to the celebrities the faces most resemble.
So let's go through the characters, shall we? If only to see the ridiculousness.
Christine Chapel (Originally Majel Barrett)- Closest one who isn't way too old is Jaime Pressly of "My Name is Earl" fame.
Yeoman Rand (originally Grace Lee Whitney)- Elisha Cuthbert and Thora Birch are the more flattering ones.
Lt. Kyle the Transporter guy (originally John Winston)- Joey Fatone of "Nsync", Christian Slater (!!!) and Matt Lauer.
Lt. Leslie the most-common Redshirt (originally Eddie Paskey)- Jamie Bell (from King Kong and Defiance) and Meat Loaf.
Harry Mudd (originally Roger C. Carmel)- Among the names that pop up from pictures of Mudd are Howard Dean (now that would be a cameo), Kevin Bacon, Gene Hackman, Steve Buscemi, Val Kilmer and Dustin Diamond. Grug Grunberg should be angry at this.
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN: Among the name that popped up for pictures of KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN are Kevin KLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE (NOOOOOO), Bollywood Actor Hrithik Roshan, Scott Bakula (heh), Gerard Butler (THIS IS....... KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!) and Benicio Del Toro.
Gary Mitchell: Jared Padalecki and Ryan Reynolds.
Talosians: Rain.
Mark Lenard's Romulan Commander: Sam Neill
