Re: Anyone Else Wanting the "Rebooted" Borg?

I've considered for some time that Berman and Braga missed a huge trick with the TNG movies by not bringing back the aliens from the TNG episode Conspiracy.

The could be introduced subtly in to the Nu-Trek time line, which perhaps gives options for a continuing story arc over a couple of sequels.

Agreed. Those aliens were cool. They could work, if subtly done.

I'm an anti-planet destroyer guy myself. Everything doesn't have to revolve around Armageddon.

Re: Anyone Else Wanting the "Rebooted" Borg?

No more Borg stories in Trek moviesor tv shows . I want to see something new in the next Star trek movie. I'm tired of the overuse of borg stories.

Re: Anyone Else Wanting the "Rebooted" Borg?

I am not too horny on this Borg idea.

Re: Anyone Else Wanting the "Rebooted" Borg?

In 15 years, with a rebooted TNG starring Kelsey Grammer as Picard, Zach Effron as Riker and Suri Cruise as Whitley Crusher, maybe. If they have a new and interesting twist on them.

Re: Paging Doctor Marcus

I dont think she has any purpose in this timeline (since there won't be a David).

No way they'll introduce a son, especially with a younger Kirk.

I think we're more likely to get Janice Rand and Kirk womanizing as usual.

Re: Actors you would like to see in Star Trek 12 (2?)

Daniel Day Lewis. He's my default answer to any "what actor would you like to see in ______" because he's amazing in everything. Klingon, Romulan, Human--doesn't matter. He'd be great.

Daniel Day Lewis as Kirk, Spock, Pike, Scotty, the bad guy AND Carol Marcus.

Campbell CAN play it straight and even go dark. Check out the season 6 X-Files episode "Terms of Endearment." Also, he was Sam Raimi's first choice for Darkman, before TPTB decided to cast Liam Neeson (due to his performance in The Dead Pool), so I would imagine that he would have the acting chops to play those kind of roles.

The best example of Campbell playing it straight and going dark is his Homicide episode.

Re: Paging Doctor Marcus

Please Lord, no.

I don't want her tying Kirk down. He should be like a bee, spreading pollen from flower to flower...

Re: Anyone Else Wanting the "Rebooted" Borg?

The Borg would be completely uneffected by earths timeline until the USS Raven goes in to deep space to study them (unless that's after TNG, in which case Encounter at Farpoint is). Until those events The Borgs timeline is completely identical, so they would HAVE to bring them back as the same as they were in TNG, which is pointless.

What prevents David from being born in this timeline?

Especially with the number of women Kirk seemed to go through at the academy. The novelization has a perfect line (despite not being canon) where they claim he's been through half the student body of the Academy.

Re: Paging Doctor Marcus

Like I said in that other thread, Sarah Lancaster!

And I think Carol Marcus should definitely be in the sequel.

I'm open to it. The new movie convinced a lot of people that Kirk and Spock were cool again by being good. People just need a good story to remind them that the Borg are cool again. That's all.

Absolutely. If you are saving the galaxy in every single film, the impact is lost.

As for the Borg, not for the next four movies. And then, maybe, maybe, if they are thoroughly restored to their place as hyperintelligent collective things you can barely comprehend, instead of the dumb as rocks, "say they are adaptable but really aren't" cyber-zombies we knew from VOY.

And where do you get that idea? He may have design genesis but he's not its product. He would have been conceve when Kirk was indeed younger, and this may be a parallel universe with some differences but, people, it's mostly similar too. The crew does get together, doesn't it. There no reason to believe he would not fall in love with a young promising scientist and get her pregnant. By the looks of it, his odds of geting a number of girls pregnant is pretty high.

Philip Seymour Hoffman as Harry Mudd. That's some inspired casting, if i do say so myself.

Re: Anyone Else Wanting the "Rebooted" Borg?

I'm with the No More Borg group. They're even more one-dimensional and boring than the Klingons...
