A toy you wanted...

The Golden Compass movie was not a good adaptation of my favorite book, but it gave some talented people, including Pullman, some well-deserved paychecks, and allowed me to be gifted a fairly high-quality alethiometer replica for under $100, so it wasn't a total loss:

And, for fun, I did a quick search of this product on Amazon and eBay just now, and didn't see a single one. A rare item, then, indeed! :bolian:

I could fill this thread up with Star trek figures alone!
since my personal Trek association only goes back as far as Star Trek the Motion Picture...

Mego 3 3/4" figures of Sulu, Chekov, Uhura, (It always bothered me they never finished the principal cast i didn't mind Decker, Ilia and the Klingon but did we really need the Betelgeusian, Zaranite, Megarite, Arcturian, and Rigellian?!?) I may not have been a full-time trekkie yet but when i became one a few years later I was really disappointed in the fact that so many relevant characters had been given the boot in favor of aliens I barely recall seeing for the most part.

I believe the people doing the figures had a long term plan, but were unaware of just how bad things really were. I have enjoyed doing my own custom Trek figures over the years to fill in what I wanted. The Mego figures were good, but the ERTL figures were better because of the wealth of head out there that could be used to create extra crew. The only drawback was they should have done Uhura or Saavik. A female body would have made the line perfect.

CCC.
