A 'Sisko' series would be cool

If there had to be a new DS9 show, I'd prefer it be something a bit more tangential.

A "Lives of Dax" anthology.
An animated Ferengi show.
A "Rebuilding Cardassia" mini-series.
Martok and Worf sitcom. ;)

A Dax anthology would be great.

I would love just an anthology show that focuses on worldbuilding and fleshing out the more interesting areas of the universe not touched on much.

A benefit of that is you could have actors from other shows appear whenever you want without needing more than a one episode contract.

One episode, aftermath of war for Bajor and Cardassian. One episode, life at the Academy. One episode, resolution of Temporal Cold War. One episode, Vidians post cure dealing with the consequences of what they did. Etc, etc.

Maybe a Sisko series post DS9 season 7, set somewhere deep in the Gamma quadrant.

The Dominion are gone, new powers are fighting for supremacy and the Sisko is needed to bring some order to the chaos. The wormhole is opened up temporally to allow starfleet to send a ship with some of it finest and a maybe a couple of old friends come along for the ride.

Maybe not the strongest premise, but it pretty much gives the writers a blank slate.

I think there's a lot of promise in a premise like this. The Gamma quadrant is vastly under explored and there's Odo and the Great Link too. A kind of 'Heart of Darkness' / 'Apocalypse Now' story line, with Odo perhaps playing a Kurtz type of role, would add the kind of thematic layers DS9 was known for.

I've often wondered why this hasn't been done in book or graphic novel form. Like that 'Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina' Star Wars book. Or maybe it has and I am just unaware?

Now that Sisko is a prophet he has no physical body so he'd need to possess someone. That would work if Brooks doesn't wanna come back. I doubt CBS will consider any series based on DS9. I'd love to see some characters come back but I'm trying to be realistic.
