That's never going to happen. The show had politics in it before and will again. It's like all the people complaining the new Will and Grace was political, everything is political. The whole reason the show came back was because of a political ad they did.
This is pretty much what I think. I don't know why people get annoyed about politics being brought up, discussion is incredibly important.
Roseanne was always political, in 1988 just the premise itself was political, at least in the US. It just doesn't seem that way anymore because we have had different working class families depicted in pop culture, and now that the show has past to memory the immediacy of it's political edge had dulled.
Will and Grace is the same, although I must admit I have not watched that much of it. The show had multiple principle characters who were homosexual and it premiered only a year after Ellen was controversially cancelled, that's a pretty strong statement. Obviously now that homosexuality is way more tolerated it won't seem that way.
Everyone said the same thing about the Beavis and Butthead revival a few years back, as if the original had no politics in it at all.
