That kind of attitude says 'stuck in history' to me, like the dinosaur friends of mine who think no music after 1980 is worth listening to.

See, everybody knows the correct cut-off is 1988.

Amen. A dinosaur like me knows that good musical taste ends with "Walk the Dinosaur"...

Boom boom. Acka lacka lacka boom. Boom boom. Acka lacka boom boom.

:brickwall:

Yes, it's easy to see how this song brought single-handedly brought on the Grunge movement in Rock. And ultimately got us to this point: Whiney male singers who sound like they're straining on a hard dump...

To me "no Trek" and "bad Trek" are essentially the same thing. If a show is bad, then I won't watch it. If a show doesn't exist, then I won't watch it.

If other people are happy watching what they dislike and complaining about it all the way, then I suppose bad Trek is better than no Trek.

This seems to be a point many people just won't accept. The audience share for Enterprise indicates the obvious, that many potential viewers made a choice and chose othre programming, or not to watch network TV at all. A lot of Trekkies just couldn't tear themselves away from the carnage, sparing themselves a lot of misery. Too personally involved or vested? I don't know. Possibly.

THANK YOU. I'm SO ready for these little pussies to go away and for some good old rock music to stage a comeback.

This probably covers it for me, personally. Trek being a love of mine, I do feel personally involved and invested in its history. so I watched V'ger, and I watched boobyprize for several reasons: 1) so I can be conversant in Trek lore and Trek history, which is important when I'm developing backstories for my kitbashes and fanfics, and 2) so I can know what I'm talking about here on this bboard when I complain about it ;).

But I could never bring myself to just sit and watch those last two shows, I'd have to have them running in the background while I was working on a model or something, lest my brain ooze out my ears. I was actually relieved when they each went off the air so I could stop putting myself thru that.
