a reference to generations in "all good things"

Did the script even mention that the B was an Excelsior class ship?
according to mike okuda, B was decided to be excelsior class when they first built that wall for the TNG pilot. from eaglemoss' star trek designing starships: "we had said for years that the excelsior sculpture in the observation lounge represented the enterprise-B, and i felt that some fans would have felt let down if we had failed to follow through with that idea [in generations]."

But does Stewart even know what a Excelsior ship looks like or that one would be in the movie. I sort of agree that Stewart likely doesn't know most of the nerd details when it comes to the show. Though maybe he spent more time on learning some of them since a movie is a big deal.

could be it wasn't even stewart's idea. could have been a moore / bragga thing. they were behind both "all good things" and generations. all we know is, if you watch the clip it seems awfully intentional. it lasts for 15 seconds, which even on the leisurely-paced TNG is an eternity. and the blocking shot was not what was in the shooting script.

people can continue to think i'm nuts, but i think it's totally possible that moore, with a fannish grin on his face, saying, "patrick, how about you walk this way and get lost in thought right here staring at this ship model?" totally possible.
