A possibility about the new Enterprise?

is it possible that the "new" Enterprise is a refit, and there is an older Enterprise that we haven't seen, possibly one that would look and feel like the TOS Enterprise?

I suppose it's possible if the ship that Kirk sees being built on the ground isn't the Enterprise (since that seems more like a building from scratch than a refit). Both of those seem unlikely to me, though, so I'm thinking that he's probably looking at Ent being built as a new vessel.

Even more unlikely when you consider that image of the Enterprise is used on at least one of the international posters...

Obviously, the ship in Trek IX is the exact same ship as in TOS and ST:I through ST:III. It's always looked that way and you people are just remembering it wrong.
