Hello and Welcome!

We recently finished our "Workforce" Line-by-Line over in the Voyager forum!

After each completed thread, using a Random Number Generator, we choose the person who gets the keys to the car and selects the next episode.

This time around, Random.org selected mattman8907 as our winner. mattman8907 chose "A Piece of the Action" to be our next Line-by-Line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes (like the Dominion Occupation Arc on DS9 or the Xindi Arc on ENT), each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread CoveTom, leandar, Enterprise1981, Admiral Shran or I will run the randomizer to determine who will pick the next episode and get it going.

The Enterprise approaches a planet.

On the Bridge...

Chekov: Approaching Sigma Iota II, Keptin.

Uhura: Captain, I have received vocal contact from an official station. They relayed us to a man called Oxmyx, his title is "boss."

KIRK: Boss? All right, Lieutenant, put him on. Oxmyx. This is Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise, representing the Federation of Planets.

Oxmyx: (over comm) Hello, Captain. You're from the same outfit as the Horizon?

KIRK: Yes. Unfortunately, the Horizon was lost with all hands shortly after leaving your planet. We only received her radio report last month.

Oxmyx [OC]: Last month? What are you talking about? The Horizon left here a hundred years ago.

KIRK: Difficult to explain. We received a report a hundred years late because it was sent by conventional radio. Your system is on the outer reaches of the galaxy. They didn't have subspace communication in those days.

KIRK: I'll explain it in more detail when I see him. The ship won't land, but we'll transport several people down. Well, that's a little difficult for you to understand, too. I'll explain it in more detail when I see you. Where will be convenient?

OXMYX: Well, there's an intersection just at the end of the block, near a yellow fire plug. Think you can find it?

KIRK: Good. Mister Oxmyx, we have your intersection located. Will five minutes be all right?

KIRK: Spock, McCoy, we're beaming down. Standard equipment.

[Turbolift]

KIRK: The Horizon's contact came before the Non-Interference Directive went into effect.
