BTW, I'm glad you made it back, too, TGB.
Ja
Thanks, glad to be back.
I don't see what's wrong with having coffee with dinner.
Scandalous!

It's just not done in polite society!
The scene with the waiter is something that actually happened to Joe at a restaurant in Los Angeles once when he tried to order coffee.
Based on a real guy?

Wow. At least LA is famous for being an addict-free zone, so he's not doing any harm.
Just doesn't drink. He's said several times that there's alcoholism going back generations in his family so he doesn't touch the stuff.
Jan
I used to be like that. There's a history of alcohol problems on both sides of my family so I refused to drink as a teenager while my friends used to get beer somehow and drink it in fields. It certainly hampered my social life once I went to college. When I was 19 I finally decided to try beer, and I realised that I didn't like it. Not liking it made me feel safe, so I allowed myself to drink from then on.
The thing that interests me about Garibaldi's alcoholism is that I don't understand it, I don't understand his craving. I only craved alcohol once in my life and on that occasion I didn't drink because I had an exam the following morning. Even then I craved only 1 drink in order to relax, not 10 in order to get drunk. I just don't get it, I hope I never do.
But it sure does make interesting television!
And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder (****)
Lennier screws everything up by revealing the truth. Damn you, Lennier!

Why can't you be a good guy that tries not to stir up trouble, like the honourable Mr Garibaldi. Sure, Garibaldi may have screwed up by not informing the White Star fleet like he should have, but he has a good excuse: he was drunk. What's your excuse, Lennier? You don't drink, so you screwed up the galaxy while completely sober! I'm very disappointed in you, Lennier.
I enjoyed most of this episode, particularly the first half where it feels like a courtroom drama where an empire is the accused. Seeing Londo react to the evidence was a treat because he knows it's probably true, but he's still shocked by it and continues to put forth the version of events his government wishes him to. G'Kar choosing to return to Centauri Prime with Londo leads to an interesting scene where he says goodbye to Delenn. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last time they see one another.
Then comes Sheridan's breakdown. Jebus H Christ, he's displaying Archer levels of stupidity!

It's one thing to lose your temper in a stressful situation, it's another thing to lose your temper and start a devastating war. Even George W Bush showed more restraints than this, I can see why historians will have such a poor opinion of Sheridan.
