Please disregard if this is old. I searched the forums and didn't see a topic on this.... but Amazon has a listing for a new Star Trek book by William Leisner. Star Trek The Original Series: A Conflict of Strangers

    http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Ori...UTF8&qid=1346561036&sr=1-2&keywords=star+trek

Ok after searching again, it was hinted at in the S & S catalogue. But this is confirmation that Leisner is working on a new novel and has a name.

Amazon lists the street date as June 1, which makes sense. It would be the next book on the shelves after the next movie comes out, so I can see how they'd want that to be a TOS book as well.

That makes 5 TOS books in a row!

Actually, the June 1 release is kind of odd. Star Trek paperback seem to be released on the last Tueday of the month. Not only is June 1 not the last anything of the month, it isn't even a Tuesday. May 28 would make a lot more sense.

But, aside from that, yeah everything else checks out.

It was mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Bill's author bio in his latest anthology said he was working on a new TOS novel. So this seems to be confirmation of that, or vice versa.

That's great news for Bill. I'm not the biggest fan of more 5YM books, but after reading his turn at TNG in Losing the Peace, I'll definitely pick this one up :techman:

So, I guess there's no backing out of this now. Yep, I'm working on a new TOS novel, though "A Conflict of Strangers" is a placeholder title.

I know it's a littl early to be asking this..... but can you give any details? Is it set during the 5 year mission?

I don't want to spill too many beans just yet, but yes, it is a 5YM adventure.

I guess I will hold out hope that a 5 year mission tale will hold some interest for me, but the odds are greatly against it. Every book I can pass up though is that much faster I can get caught up with a bunch of older books I haven't read yet.

Very cool. I've really enjoyed the other William Leisner stories I've read, so I'll gladly check this out.
