A New App To Stop People From Texting & Driving

Okay, so I was watching the news today, and saw there is a new app called Phone Gaurd to help stop people from texting & driving. I am thinking, why not just turn the phone off while in the car or just not bring it with you, or just simply not use it?

I would think we, human beings, have enough since to just put the phone down or at least turn it off while in the car. Now we need an app to stop us from texting & driving?

I don't text while driving. I don't understand how anyone does it. On top of how stupid it is, just how it works on a technical level is beyond me, unless you simply aren't paying attention to anything outside of your damn phone.

I don't need an app to stop me texting and driving but this is mainly because a) I don't drive and b) I don't own a mobile phone.

I think that someone also needs an app that stops one from texting while walking to prevent people from being injured from walking into poles or falling down holes.

I've pretty much memorized which button corresponds to which letters and how many presses each one needs, so I can text just having my hand on the phone inside my pocket, only checking to read incoming messages. But it's still a dumbass decision to do much of anything other than giving the road 100% undivided attention while driving.

In many places, even that is illegal.

^I think that it is illegal here. Not something I do often, but it's not particularly dangerous, which is my primary concern.

It's actually an old app called common sense. Unfortunately, most people don't come with that app, nor can they download it.

Some kind of shock collar would be a better idea.
