A Matter of Perspective-Riker and Mrs. Apgar

So, I understand Geordi's technobabble saved Riker, but one thing wasn't clear:

Did Riker actually make a consensual move on Apgar's wife?

When they show the 'evidence,' Riker makes no emotion reaction. (It's not until they show the un-consensual move towards Apgar's wife that Riker gets upset).

He said/she said. We could probably never know the absolute truth. Riker would say he didn't, she would say that he did. Who's to say who's right?

Although I would tend to believe Riker. Have we ever seen him put the moves on a woman he knows is already married?

I rather doubt it. I'd be very surprised to see Trek portraying the hero character of William Riker as a willing adulterer.

Even if TPTB had intended to show Riker's conflict at being tempted by another man's wife, surely they would have made that the focus of the episode and not just a throwaway scene.

I can understand everyone's posts (and yeah, I remember Craig's Bond making the move on the married girl, Solange)....

However, we remember our lovable DS9 engineer--Miles O'Brien--was tempted and made a slight move towards Kira Nerys, before she told him to go to his wife.

Ironically, I guess it's a sense of 'perspective' as one of the above posters brought out...i.e. Did he, or did he not?

Watch the episode closer. You can tell by the way Riker is acting in each version of the testimony which is true to the his personality.
