It's because the Kirk green wraparound is AWESOME.
Yes. That's the first story that I linked to above.
If there literally was such a directive, that specified they should use green, then the green-to-gold material could have been a deliberate choice to get around it. "We gave them their green, but oh look, it photographs as gold."Is that NBC-rbg story folklore or can someone supply a source? Whenever kirk is in green wraparound, esp. second-season, with a red and blue shirt in the shot, it sure looks good.

"Gold v Green... sounds like a case for... Denny Crane..."
Also note the S3 polyesters were green and photographed greener. Another piece of evidence for original intent.
Where does Randput her Communicator or Phaser?
Kirk and Spock hide their Communicators and Phaser Ones under their shirts...

Years ago I asked on the bbs why Theiss -- if he and some ptb wanted green -- didn't see some dailies; buy some new cloth, re-dye, and end up with green appearing on film. The answer I got, and I believe it, was that it was a lot of velour and screen-worthy costumes ain't cheap. I buy that.
But from the quotes above, it seems clear that he and tptb desired green. Also note the S3 polyesters were green and photographed greener. Another piece of evidence for original intent.
It's still not as bad as the debate of Green vs. Purple.I love how nothing, but NOTHING, brings out some of the best posters on this board like another installment in the case of Gold v. Green.![]()
Perhaps no one cares for the opinion of someone who is colorblind
Thank you. I am reminded of a conversation with my wife when we discussed painting the bedroom. I said, "I have an opinion about color." She retorted, "No, you have an opinion about hue."We're people, too!

Thats actually fairly trivial in digital color-correction. You specify a color range you want to change and the software only alters the pixels in that range.Even in my beloved clamshell dvd's the S3 will look greener occasionally.
I just watched a bit of Mudd's Women remastered, very early S1; the shirts were greenish, but skin tones were great. Do you mean CBS changed the color of just the shirts somehow?
