A Long Shot

Hello all, I've got something of a weird request that I'm hoping someone more in the know can help with it.

Back in the early-2000s I was a poor uni student, once when I was in a bookshop flicking through Trek books I came across an RPG guide that I had a quick skim through and had some really nice bits and pieces of information (one of the things I remember most was the establishment of a species native to Alpha Centauri, and not just human colonists). Unfortunately, not being a tabletop gamer (and on the meager pittance of a student load at the time) I never got it and the next time I was there I couldn't find it.

I'm just wondering if anyone could remember what RPG guides were on the go twenty-odd years ago (ahhhh, I suddenly feel old!!!!!!). I know its a long shot, probably an even longer one to find it again, but some of the info might be online somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Possibly the Last Unicorn Games Star Trek TNG roleplaying game or one of its supplements? I checked the Decipher Star Trek RPG books and didn't notice anything about Centuarans.

FASA, I believe, started the trend of making the Alpha Centaurians as non-Earth humans. From Memory Alpha:
In the FASA role playing game the Alpha Centaurians were the first extraterrestrial civilization Humans encounter. The historic meeting occurred in 2042 when the Earth's United Nations space craft, the UNSS Icarus, utilizing a Bussard collector, arrived in the Alpha Centauri system. In 2048, Zefram Cochrane, an Alpha Centarian, sent his warp drive discovery to Earth. This contrasts with Star Trek canon material, which establishes that Cochrane was an Earth-born Human.
I also have an extremely vague and distant memory of some mention of the humanoids of AC to not be an Earth Human colony, per se (as in, a colony established by and maintained UESPA), but rather a distant splinter tribe of Earth Humans, taken from ancient Greek/Mediterranean regions by the Preservers/Seeders and transplanted there, much like Miramani's people were taken from Earth and moved to the planet "Amerind" at around the same time.
