Hi all!! I know I haven't been around for a while I've been extremely ill. However, I'm much better now. It's funny how you can take things like having good health for granted (especially when your young). Well, not me not anymore. I see this board has been hoppin not that I expect anything other than that. I really missed you guys. It's great to read all your posts as I'm trying to catch up on all the latest news. So, what have I missed... ;)

:D :D

Wow! Are we glad to see you!!!!!

Glad you are better - we've been wondering where you've been, PM!!!

I hope that you are well enough now to stick around! Tell us what you've been up to, if you feel like it! :)

Hey guys thanks for the welcome back! :) Well, I guess the one thing I can say is while I was sick my sister from California came in town to see me with a little surprise. She knew I was a bit ill and wanted to bring me something special. Since she works for this production company in California she gets to meet just about everyone in the entertainment business (I hate her for that :D anyway, she called a friend who knew Avery Brooks and got a letter well it was more like a note saying hope your feeling well soon and an autographed picture of him. I almost fell out of bed! So to say the least I have it in one of those protective cases like the ones they have in museums. I said wow all this from having surgery. Thank God the cyst wasn't cancerous but, it was scary to say the least.

Anyway, I see Orlando is still hangin around... I think it's time for a new movie with him for sure so you can get your fill Vash. How did your finals go BigFoot? Hey Kev still slinging that gah around. Guess I'll have a scope of whatever's movin :p What's going on for the fall guys? Anyone doing anything special? I know in November there's going to be a convention in Indianapolis Indiana and I'm definitely going! The people from Slanted Fedora are giving it. I've never been to one only Creations conventions but, I'm going to this one. Gonna drag my whole family too. :D These are the people who will be there.

Well, today I registered with another online photo site to sustain me after Photobucket's minor meltdown yesterday. Hopefully they're back up soon, because uploading and linking photos seems a lot more straightforward than at some other sites. I was feeling a bit naked without my avatar, too! :)

EDIT: Well, so much for THAT website! Apparently their bandwidth restrictions are worse than I thought. Guess I'll have to search around a bit more or just wait for my usual site to be restored. :(

Anyone seeing Sky Captain this weekend? Depending on my schedule today, I was thinking about taking in a late matinee. The movie looks like a lot of fun!

Good to hear that you're doing okay! And welcome back. :)

How did your finals go BigFoot?

Well a friend of mine always says that something good always comes out of something bad. So I'm glad that's true, cos autographed photo is definately cool :) And like I already said, I'm glad you're well again.

Mine finals went good, thanx for asking. I got at least a B on all of them and I'm actually starting school in a little over a week again. :) I'm actually flying back to Canada on sunday.

I gave my mom an early b-day present today, cos I won't be here for her b-day. Anyway, I gave her her favourite movie ever on DVD, Gone With The Wind. She was ecstatic. :D

Oh yeah, I also started watching Nip/Tuck today. While the show can be a bit gross sometimes, I'm still enjoying it a lot so far. :) And I've only got four eps of Farscape left. The "We're so Screwed" three-parter and "Bad Timing".

Well, I just got back from seeing SCATWOT, and I was pretty impressed. The visual style takes a little getting used to, but actually seemed appropriate after a while. Not being a fan of Angelina Jolie, I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't get much screen time, despite her billing. If you liked films such as the Indiana Jones movies and The Rocketeer, you'll probably like the movie. The CGI is quite good, there were a few nods to King Kong, and there are numerous funny bits (the running gag with Polly's camera is great). I wouldn't mind seeing more films if they make it a series (I've read somewhere a while ago that prequels are being discussed). ****/*****

Thanks Steven

So true what your friend said BigFoot... I believe there is a reason for everything you may not see it at the time but, somehow it will reveal its self over time. Can't say I've seen the show Nip&Tuck yet maybe a bit too graphic for me. And I haven't seen Farscape yet either. I hear Farscape is a really good show so I gotta check it out.
I know one show that will be hard to check out this fall and that's 24. Actually I'm not really sure when it's coming out. I do know without Sherry and Palmer on the show it just won't be the same IMO. Guess I'll check out Sky Captain this weekend and see if it's a good flick or not. The CGI seems pretty amazing.

/\ IIRC, 24 is supposed to be back in January. Long wait... :borg:

Okay, after re-reading the thread for B5 comments...

The main things you have to remember at this point, are the Babylon Squared plot points concerning Zathrus and Sinclair. Don't even worry about the person in the space suit. That will all make alot more sense later.
I see. And I shouldn't worry about the throw-away line uttered by the Minbari guy in the Great Machine in "The Long Twilight Struggle"? ;) :p

Emperor Cartagia is pretty "sinister", wouldn't you say, BigFoot?
Well, I now know who this is, but not why he's sinister... we haven't even seen him onscreen.

Also, for some reason, the B5 universe seems a bit... smaller then the Star Trek one. I've watched through all of season 1, and I suppose it's because there's not much that really happens off station (that we see, there's always references to other things going on). It also doesn't help that DS9 had two precedessors filling in the details, but even on it's own, it seemed like a bigger area. We saw more going on off the station (Bajor, Cardassia, the DMZ, etc). B5 seems more confined to... well... Babylon 5. Haven't really made up my mind whether that's a good thing or not.
Well, the B5 universe is a bit bigger, but I still don't have the same sense of where everything is as I did with DS9/Star Trek.

This Sheridan character also seems a bit... bland. But that's only a first impression based on one episode. Although it does confuse me as to why Earth Alliance would put someone who is rather... ah... disliked by the Minbari in command of B5, but I'm sure there's a good reason.
Again, I now know why Sheridan is on B5, and he is a lot more interesting then when I first "met" him. :)

-And another question about human telepaths... how did they come to be? Genetic engineering?
And nobody answered this question. ;) :p

It's another of those wait-and-see questions...that's why no one answered it.

What? You asked, I answered. :D

I'll be interested in your reaction when you do get the answer, though... And have you got season 3 yet???

Hehe, you'll get to see him on screen no worries. And once you get to it, you'll also know why he's sinister. :D

Oh for the love of...

Steven...there are *alot* of comments you've made over the months that none of us wanted to touch!

All of your questions were good questions and were not ignored cus they weren't. They were ignored, for the most part, because of what SB said....the answer was too much of a spoiler!

Anyway...I hope that you get season 3 today - IMO, the best seasons of any scifi show EVER! :D

PM...I'm really glad to see you back. And that is really cool, the note and pic you got from Avery Brooks! And so many people come into this forum accusing him of not caring about fans! I think it's awesome...and very cool that you have that - and that he did it for you!

And yeah...you have missed a few things around the board and the forum...but truthfully, alot of the "goings on" related to the Niners, you can kinda pick up on in this thread! ;)

BigFoot...have a great trip back! Glad your mom is happy with her birthday gift!

Okay, I now have season 3 in my hands. Stay tuned for updates as I watch. ;)

I also picked up two ST books today: "A Time for War, A Time for Peace" and "Stone and Anvil". :D

Now let's see if this damn thing has an episode guide...

[edit]
WOO! :D

/\ And I might be getting the other two episode guides soon. Finally got ahold of Warner Bros, and they contacted their Canadian divison apparently.

^ That's great news! I mean, especially since there are no episode titles on the discs, it would be really nice to have them!

Yeesh, it's about time. :p

And an episode guide! Bonus! :D Best of luck (finally) getting the other one.

I'm going to start rewatching the series this week - I hope. Really looking forward to this....
