^ Yeah...Farscape is quite an investment. It's a bit cheaper if you wait for the season boxed sets though...you might check into that. I think most of them are out... ;)

^ I believe the first three season sets are out. The thing is, I've actually found the sets for good prices at US-based online stores. The problem with that is that you've gotta pay some extra cash for customs or something like that. And none of the Canadian stores (that I know of) have the sets for a decent price. I believe amazon.ca is selling them for about $155 canadian which is just outrageous. I can three seasons of Buffy/Angel/24/Alias... for that price.

So yeah, hopefully I'll find the sets at a Canadian stored for a reasonable price. Either that, or I might get the sets from eBay.

The only TV series I have on DVD are Farscape (S1-3) and DS9. I've thought about getting The X-Files, but those sets aren't the cheapest either, and I'm not sure if I'd rewatch the eps enough to warrant the purchase.

I'm debating whether or not to see the Resident Evil sequel this weekend. I saw the first one in theatres, and it was decent fun, though more than a bit stupid. :D

^ Yeah...The X-Files is *not* cheap. Although I understand that it has come down a bit in price recently.

Still, there are nine seasons also...so it will get pricey regardless of what you do!

Well, boredom won out this afternoon, so I took in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, as well as Cellular.

RE:A, at least to me, is more enjoyable than the first movie, but is just as silly. There are some good laughs to be had (and at the INTENTIONALLY funny parts more often than not), and some decent, though sloppily-edited, ass-kicking. But if you're looking for good acting or a fabulous storyline, look elsewhere. And they did leave the ending open for another movie; whether that's good or bad is up to you.

Cellular was a pleasant surprise! As Ebert wrote in his review, it's gimmicky, but in a good way. The plot progresses rather nicely from event to event; I don't know if all of the crises presented are completely logical, since I've never owned a cell phone myself, but as far as I know they worked well. It was also pretty cool to see William H. Macy kick some ass in a movie, and he gets what I feel is the movie's funniest line.

Hey Vash, yesterday I PMed you about the new avatar size limit that's going to be implemented soon. Anyway...i made you a 100x100 pixel version of the Orlando av and I'm just checking if you got my PM or not. If not, let me know and I can send it again. :)

I got it, BigFoot...I'm just trying to decide what to do. I would love a bigger avatar...but I don't wanna give up ANY of my pictures!!!!

Thanks for thinking of me though. I just don't know what to do....

I just mentioned this in the AL, but I'll repeat it here... It seems appropriate.

I watched Babylon 5's finale, "Sleeping in Light", last night. I confessed a few pages ago that the last 10 or so minutes of it always make me bawl, but last night I found a new sob point...

Franklin's first appearance. :(

I hadn't watched any B5 since he died, and seeing him with the grey hair, it just hit me - that'll never be real. :(

Watching the series will never be quite the same again for me, in the same way that I've found "Journey to Babel" - one of my favourite TOS episodes - hard to watch since Mark Lenard died, and TOS generally hard work since DeForest Kelley died.

Reality really sucks sometimes...

How old was the actor? What did he die of? Anyone got a picture? It's always sad when that happens.

The same thing is true of Kelly Waymire. :(

Mr. Biggs was only 44 or 45 when he suffered some kind of massive stroke or some major organ failure this past May. I don't have all the details but I'm sure someone here does. I rewatched some B5 S1 a week after his passing and it brought a tear to my eye when Dr. Franklin reports to the station for the first time. So young and full of life. It is soooo sad that he is no longer here. :( I'm with you SB, watching the show will never be the same for me either. :( :(

Hey Everybody!!

I see it's popular these days to make formal announcements when you're going to be on hiatus from the forum. Well, you'll get none from me.... mainly cause I don't know when I'll be gone. I just keep showing up again sporadically :D

Nice to see y'all keeping the fire burning here though! Less than 200 posts, & we'll have to get the next great DS9 lounge going. Takers?

Anyway, I saw Hero this past weekend. I'm with you, Montresor, very well done movie. I still prefer CTHD cause I thought it fleshed out it's story better, but I did enjoy seeing less high-flying action in Hero (if only to keep down on it looking like a copycat). I wonder how much of that story is true. It was a great tale.

Nothing else going on with me, just busy! Hurricane Ivan is threatening to come right up the middle of Alabama, so I'll be praying for safety over the coming days.

First of all, I agree with everyone saying that watching Babylon 5 will never be the same again.

I'm flying back to Canada this sunday. In a way, I'm looking forward to it, cos I miss my g/f and I'm looking forward to school starting again. And hey, I need to get a ton of DVDs that came out in the last three months, lol
On the other hand, I'm really gonna miss home again (especially my mom's cooking). I am coming back here for x-mas though. :)

^You've never considered theft?

Or sleeping with someone who already owns them :D

But I don't own them!

...hey....wait a cotton-pickin' minute!!!

I think that's how I'm going to watch the X-Files. Sleeping with an owner of them. ;)
