Kill Bill Vol. 2 is coming out today. Poor, poor Punisher, the first one was horrible, this one is getting horrible reviews and it's going to get massacred by Kill Bill in it's opening weekend.

^ Yeah. :D I've been trying to convince my g/f to come see volume 2 with me. Urgh...she's resisting. Oh well, resistance is futile, I'll figure out a way to get her to come with me. In the worst case, I'll buy her something, lol. :D

^^Luckily I don't have that problem both my boyfriend and I are huge Tarantino and Kill Bill fans. :p :D

My problem is he hates Star Trek :( .

Since when have bad reviews alone stopped people from seeing a movie? Hell, I went to see Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever just because I needed some explosions and fisticuffs (and I'm still recovering :)) Punisher will get a share of the audience, but hopefully the movie-going public will choose the better revenge flick that's available to them.

Well, she loves Trek so hey, I guess I sort of evens out, lol. :)

Think I'll be leaving work early for KBV2 ;)

I was really looking foward to The Punisher. I only saw bits of the Dolph Lundren crapfest, but it was enough to know it was a crapfest! I was really hoping this new one would be something like a dark, realistic story. A Dirty Harry type without that shred of authority that would reel DH in every once in a while. I might check it out later this weekend.

But today is all about Bill!

Just got back from seeing Vol. 2!!! Wow, I was blown away for the most part! Less action, more dialogue, but that's cool because it's Quentin's dialogue. The scenes with Budd and his boss, and the Bride with Esteban felt a bit extraneous, but other than that I thought it was a nicely paced film. And once again the soundtrack kicked ass! I hope to get around to seeing it once more in theaters.

First of all I'd like to ask that if anyone posts their comments about Kill Bill vol 2, not to spoil it.

Anyway, I have good news, for me at least lol. :D I convinced my g/f to come see volume 2 tonight, so we're gonna go with a couple of friends. We're gonna see it at 10.20, so I probably won't post my thoughts about it until tomorrow. There's a topic about volume 2 in Federation Embassy and if anyone wants to talk about the film (with spoilers) we should probably do it in there. :) Anyway, today was a good day. A couple of classes got cancelled, so I went downtown early. I bought Stargate season 5 and 6, so I got them all now. :D When I got home I decided I wanna watch Kill Bill vol 1 again, so I did. I pretty much never do this, I just can't watch the same movie within a couple of days. But Kill Bill is just so much fun, and I just really had to watch it again. :D So yeah, I'm REALLY looking forward to volume 2.

* comes in to celebrate his impending promotion * :D

You should stop by the lounge more often, kev. We have a candy shop now. :D

Well I'm really upset right now. Why? Cos Kill Bill vol 2 was sold out. Ugh...so yeah, hopefully (if time permits) I'll be able to see it tomorrow.

^I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I'm due to visit the cinema again, once I can find soemthing worth seeing. :D

My sister keeps thrwoing me out of the house so her friends can come round. :(

KBV2 was COOL!!! A different tone from the first in some respects, but in others a perfect complement. I'm definitely waiting for the DVD where Tarrantino plans to put these together as one. It makes perfect sense as one film.

Allright y'all, what's our next av?? Maybe I'll repost Kaga and remind everyone what this thread might be about :p

Well... allright! But only for the candy :D Nah, I just spend so much time in here & Sci-Fi & Fantasy that I'm about exhausted and ready to leave when I'm done! ;)

Glad you liked V2, kev! I'm definitely going to try and see it again real soon. I hope QT doesn't wait too long to release a nice SE DVD with the combined volumes, deleted scenes, etc.

I don't know what kind of av to have next. I made a modified-O'Brien av for Van Helsing with (badly) overlaid vampire teeth, but that flick's still a few weeks away. Anyone aware of any good DVD that's being released soon?

^I haven't bought any DVDs lately (except for Matrix Revolutions, and that just had to happen ), so I really don't know what's new. I think I saw Master & Commander advertised in ads yesterday. I was surprised that movie wasn't out already.

Well, I finally got to see Kill Bill vol 2 today, and WOW was that a sweet-ass movie. :D I absolutely loved it. The whole was just so sweet...man I wanna see it again. :D And IMO it had one of the best end credits ever.

Yeah, both sets of them! David Carradine kicked so much ass; it's hard to believe now that QT wanted to cast Warren Beatty first. One would have thought the "Kung Fu" background would have made Carradine a logical first choice, especially since Samuel L. Jackson referenced his character "Caine" in Pulp Fiction. Quentin does seem to like including things that tie his movies together.

I need to pick up the Vol 2 soundtrack pretty soon, since I already have Vol 1. I really love that "Goodnight Moon" song that played over the end credits. Very catchy!

^ Yeah, Carradine ruled and I agree that I can't really see Warren Beatty in the role of Bill. It just wouldn't work. :)

Hey barkeep, where's that romulan ale. ;)

Seriously, we can't let this thread die. So, how was everyone's week, and have you seen whatever was released on DVD yet? I just started my third go-round with DS9. The more I see Emissary, the more I like it's the most intellectual and cerebral premiere of trek lore. For being a first episode, the acting is actually really good.

BTW Vash, have you finished Season 7 yet? :p
