A Great Joint Mission for Picard & Sisko would be

Find, engage, and defeat the Dominion Heavy Battleship as she was racing toward....Trill or Andoria.

Me thinks both the Defiant and the Enterprise E could dispatch it but w/much difficulty.

Rather than just a space shoot them up I think a better mission would be where you had some real conflict between Sisko and Picard. Hard to see much of it happening in the above. It would give us some cool space battle scenes that's for sure.

Take for "For the Uniform" for example and you swap out the Malinche with the Enterprise. You now have the other captain as an established character and it is easier to have them question Sisko's actions and motives. A final scene with Picard actually questioning Sisko's actions rather than just Sisko and Dax having a laugh about not getting permission from Starfleet to go around poisoning worlds as he pleased.

Or throw in something to do with the Borg that's not "destroy the Borg cube".

Yeah, if it had been the Enterprise and Picard in "For The Uniform" I can see the ending.

Picard calls Sisko on the holo communicator and starts giving him a bombastic santimonius lecture for his action against the Maquis planet. Sisko without saying anything just turns off the communicator, cutting Picard off in mid snobby sentence and goes on about his business.

Yet another idea that could have been "Star Trek IX" and very likely would have worked better than the one we actually got.

Have Sisko be the Defiant captain in First Contact, with the conflict being between the two of them instead of Picard Worf and Lilly.

I would like to have seen Sisko and Picard meet again, given Sisko's rude attitude towards Picard the first time they met ,they needed to meet again .

I have to admit, if I had met the man responsible for the loss of my ship, most of my shipmates, and most importantly MY WIFE, I would be considerably less friendly than Sisko was.

I certainly understand your opinion and Picard is not my favorite capt, but he was under the control of Borg and was basically forced to do this and he did fight them until he couldn't.

Sisko seemed to have forgiven Picard on Emissary 2-he'll never forget what happened at Wolf but his days of bitterness are over towards Picard

And besides, it wasn't so much "forgiveness" that Sisko gave to Picard at the end of Emissary as it was an apology. He realized he had been an unfair jerk to Picard and felt pretty bad over it. Fortunately Picard isn't going to begrudge a fellow Fleeter over the Borg because God knows how HE felt over that thing...

Not sure how well it'd work. Picard would be the senior captain in any situation, and would most likely be in command of any mission that takes place off of DS9. First Contact would have been a good situation to put the two together. Sisko, as an experienced officer (was he a Captain by this point?) and would have either been the acting XO on the 1701E leaving Beverly to remain in charge of handling a makeshift sickbay or in command of the away team.

In For the Uniform, it could have made a good place for the two of them to work together. They both were betrayed by officers who defected to the Maquis, and both would have a personal reason to stop them. It could also have made a good return for Ro, maybe as Eddinton's second in command. However, by the this time the 1701D had been destroyed and it's unknown if the 1701E was ready for active duty or even out of space dock.

A good episode I think would have been the 1701D coming back in time to defend DS9 in Emissary. A battle along the lines of Yesterdays Enterprise where the 1701D had to stay between the station and the Cardassians.

A second time would have been Blaze of Glory, with the 1701E providing cover and again allowing Picard and Sisko a chance to deal left over emotions due to their betrayals. Again another possibility for Ro to make an appearance.

I would've liked to see some DS9 people in "Star Trek: First Contact", but I don't think Sisko replacing Worf would have worked. It means we would have had to lose that KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND scene. I suppose some people find it cheesy, but I love that scene and wouldn't trade it for anything. Sisko and Picard have a rocky history, but that scene worked because of Worf and Picard's history specifically.

. . . paring French wine from Picard's Vineyards with Cajun cooking from Sisko's in New Orleans. -- RR

It would have been interesting to see Sisko interact with the TNG crew in FC (we've already seen Worf do that) or at least see more DS9 characters. I'm not sure if it would have made it better but if I had had to decide I would have had Sisko in FC.
