Better, so they say.

Not just revenge, but for me, Trek. Just switching on the TV and watching whatever episode is broadcasting and sitting through the commercials. It's what I grew up on.

So I just did, without any idea of what I'd be watching other than it was Trek, and it was TNG "Ensign Ro." One of the best damn episodes of any series I've ever watched.

Served cold.

Locally here, on just plain old frequency band tv, there's a channel that runs, in their nightly primetime slot, back to back Star Trek. They do one TOS episode, then a TNG one & then a VOY one, every weeknight. It's kind of neat that they chose the shows that actually trek the stars. I'll tune in quite often

Pretty much what I get on cable. It's strangely better than binging on streaming or my dvd sets.

TNG was pre-UPN, so while it would be cool to see an episode with the original commercials, every city that ran the show would have had different commercials (no national ads unless it was somehow a Big-3 station).

I'm not sure, even after the advent of UPN, that each city wasn't still running it's own commercials, outside of the other UPN show previews.

Are you talking about the channel Heroes & Icons? Because that's exactly what they did every night except Saturday. TOS, TNG, DS9, VGR, then ENT from 8 - 1 a.m.

It's actually what got my wife to start watching the shows... I worked overnight, so on my nights off, and right before I went to work sometimes, I'd have it on while she was on her laptop. She would get STAR TREK running in the background for quite a while... until she surprised me by saying maybe she'll check out a show.

She has now seen every episode of TNG, DS9, VGR, ENT, and PIC. (She won't bother with TOS, LD, or PRODIGY, and I know she won't like DISCO. SNW is a possibility, given how excited she has seen me be about it.) And we are currently rewatching DS9... we're at the end of season 5 now. Second watch for her, probably 15 for me.

Thank you, H&I, for being that hypnotic background voice in her ear!

You have one hell of a wife.

Tonight I got DS9 "Favor the Bold" and "Sacrifice of Angels" and they both made me choke up. They had an episode of "Picard" in between, I have to admit I hadn't been watching it so far, but it grabbed me. I'm going to try to catch up.

My local channel is aptly named "Sci Fi". It's 90% Trek with some Sanctuary and Dr. Who on rotation. Plus a random '90s movie thrown in each day.

Awesome! They air them in exactly that order... TOS, TNG, DS9, VGR, and ENT.

I no longer have the channel, but it was a fun one to catch back then.

I channel surf…and can come upon interesting programs I might have never seen if I only streamed my interests.

Sometimes it’s good to let things wash over you.

Agree 100%. Infact, what I'd tell you is that I have all 7 seasons of TNG, DS9, and VOY on my media server... but I PREFER to watch it live on BBC America (here in the US) because I love the idea of not knowing what is coming on, and enjoying the show in the moment. Just like you, it's what I grew up on and I love it. Sometimes it's a winner, like yours... sometimes it's Season 2 of TNG.... not so awesome...

When I'm visiting my parents, we'll watch H&I and binge through TOS, TNG, and sometimes DS9. Unfortunately, VOY and ENT are just on too late...

Normally, staying up till one to watch all five (midnight for VOY anyway) wouldn't be much of an issue, but I normally have to wake up early. That school bus isn't going to drive itself, after all.
