A Collector's Dilemma

All this talk a couple of days ago(especially as I was 'enamored' with TAS) had me searching online for some Star Trek collectibles.

I think collectibles have gotten really nice-looking over the years. (I've had a few in the past, but usually sold them or returned them because I felt the money could have been used for something more useful).

It's a case of 'Do I really NEED these?' versus something that might just sit in a box...(like my Star Trek 2009 glasses, and my two copies of Star Trek 2009...the first of many of my favorite films).

On the site:

I found a Lt. Ellis (from UFO) for $299.00. (Now, Lt. Ellis is cool, but NOT THAT COOL....)

There was a nice-looking Viper from nuBSG....

On the Star Trek-related note: I found a nice TOS tricorder....2009 Trek phaser...ENT NX-01...2009 ENT...as well as classic TOS ENT...

I am considering the three ENT models...but they may sit in their box until I'm settled in an office somewhere. (Of course, I could buy TWO....but it has to be something worthwhile)...

I don't know where this post is going, but it was something I was 'musing' about...

(I just hope JJ doesn't disappoint me with the next film, otherwise I'm going to regret the collectibles I do have!)

Too, I'm in the midst of collecting (and reading) classic to new Trek novels...

I still need to get one or two issues for the Pike Voyages that came out years ago...

*sigh*

To amuse yourself, I find it fun to simply type in Trek and then a year, like Trek 1979 in the eBay search. All the TMP stuff comes flooding in. Try it sometime and you'll find some fun things you never knew about, maybe something will pique your interest!

Hallmark has a new Enterprise ornament that is pretty nice.

The nuENT looks very tempting...

And I think I'm leaning more towards purchasing a ship....(A model ship, not an actual one...;))

Sounds like a plan...!

I wish I had a chance to pick this puppy up. I would've bought 10 just for the heck of it. The thing has a digital copy of the movie on it.

Do NOT resurrect old threads. If no one has posted in a thread for more than three months it is considered dead and should be left alone. If you have something new to say about a particular topic I would suggest starting a new thread... unless it is for spam. In that case you need to keep walking and find some other board to bomb.

They're coming to get you, Barbara! I am putting a bullet in the brain of this zombie thread in 3... 2... 1...
