Plus the Doctor has been to America in series one's "Dalek"

But for sake of arguing, this will be the first time they've filmed in America.

I suspect the second unit filming at the Statue of Liberty amounted to two or three people with a digital camcorder looking like tourists, avoiding the need for a permit. :)

If you had no idea what they were doing you'd think they were a small New York independent movie or film school project.

I've not read the rest of the thread, but I thought it was pretty poor. Some half-baked ideas and completely unengaging. I even managed to find Smudger a bit irritating, and the preview of the next series didn't do much for me either. Pfffff, Doctor Who.

oh well see you next season and christmas special...and the few after that :)

One day we will return to slow pacing and tin foil hats we just need the nuclear war first to set mankind backwards.
Keep plugging away, you'll eventually come up with something witty, if only by accident.

Keep watching and you might find something you like, it must the only reason why you continue to watch a show you don't like very much.

If you bothered to actually fucking read what I said last series, you'll see I liked most of it. It's a bit sad how you keep trying to pick a fight. Does it really hurt you that much that someone disagrees with you? I suggest you stop it; I'm embarrassed for you.

Yessss,,,

This looks like an excellent location for a popcorn stand! I should be rich in no time!

Just wish the Dod had ruffled young Kazran's hair and said "Of course I'm going to have to make you forget all that"
I thought the point was that young Kazran saw how terrible he'd be and then that thought filtered all the way down to old Kazran. If young Kazran forgot seeing his older self, then old Kazran would not have had the change of heart.

Me, too. Also, who is to say that, in a linear line for Kaz: The Doc visits him and Abby a couple of Xmas Eve's, do the sight-seeing, and then the next one, Doctor simply takes young Kaz to see his older self (which is the final key to making him repentant). Then, after that he continues taking Kaz and Abby on their great Xmas Eve adventures until it meets up with the present old Kaz and Abby singing to the heavens, and The Doctor showing young Kaz his older self.

Remember: Time Travel. ;)

(my brain hurts)

Yes but young Kaz seeing old Kaz can't help but have had an impact on him, altering his perceptions of himself, the Doctor and Abigail.

All of those little digs are now resulting in an infraction for trolling.

Infraction for flaming. You know the drill.

And everyone else can move along. :vulcan:

That's it?! After only one popcorn sold? (And that to an odd fellow in white face and a wheel chair, but at least he paid with something that looks like real money.) How the heck am I supposed to pay off this popcorn stand?! No wonder the economy in these parts is all rubbish, you meddling moderators are too busy monkeying with money-making markets!

[shakes finger menacingly]

Okay, I'm going ... but I'll be back.

Waaay back!

Way, way back.

Get in line. She was radiant in the confidential. It's makes me kind of wish singers like Billie Piper or Kylie Minogue would have contributed a song.

Billie wasn't much of a singer and neither voices would of suited a Doctor Who episode. As for Jenkins

Katherine was radiant and genuine with her performance. I agree it's too bad Murray didn't write a song for Kylie. I don't think Billie would have sung anything.

^The "Paris" comment is actually kind of interesting, since that was the last really high-profile overseas location they used (in 1979's "City of Death")

Amsterdam? ("Arc of Infinity") Seville? ("The Two Doctors")
Rome? ("Fires Of Pompeii") Dubai? ("Planet Of The Dead") Croatia? ("Vampires In Venice")

And let's not forget Vancouver, Canada for the TV movie.

Anyway, loved the special. It's probably my favorite and the general (off-line) consensus from others where I'm at is that it was awesome. It's hard to believe Katherine Jenkins had never acted before. I think she's a natural and we're going to see her in a lot more shows in future. Including, I hope, Doctor Who since we never did see her actually die, so that leaves the door open.
