I hear everything is taken care of by Top men. Top men...........
It's a wish fulfillment strategy. So convinced that what they hear must be true because it satisfies their own deeply held beliefs. The thing that really gets me, is that there are a lot of people out there who actually believe them!
No it doesn't. Out of the five Star Wars moves Kathleen Kennedy produced, only one underperformed. Producers do not get fired because one bomb out of five movies and they don't get fired because of unhappy fans.Kennedy being fired sort of makes sense because fans are really unhappy with how the Skywalker Trilogy played out and you got all the fired directors and turmoil.

That was always the damn plan. Okay, maybe not literally "always," the failure of Solo did essentially halt any future anthology films, however when the Game of Thrones producers were initially hired to develop a new trilogy, the plan then was to have this new trilogy's first movie released in 2022 with no new films in the interim after Rise of Skywalker's release. Even when the GoT producers left, there still weren't any plans to have a movie out any earlier than 2022, which is now postponed because of Corona.Yet the movies seem to always be on hold and I get the impression they are running out the clock on her contract. Once it is over she will retire or move onto another project or even be promoted. She signed a extension that runs through 2021. They would not have movie ready by then even if COVID didn't happen.
Well some stuff makes more sense than others. Kennedy being fired sort of makes sense because fans are really unhappy with how the Skywalker Trilogy played out and you got all the fired directors and turmoil. Or the time people predicted more was going on when Ruby Rose left. The idea of someone just quitting is hard to swallow so the idea of their being some behind the scenes conflict makes sense also.
On the other hand how many times has Discovery and Picard being cancelled already by Midnight Edge. Disney is going to turn to George Lucas to save Star Wars. Get real! One my favorites is the bad test footage stuff. I think Picard was almost canned because of bad test footage before they even hired actors.Predictions can be easy if you do enough work though they won't all pan out and sometimes you do get leaks and stuff is heard so of course you got that stuff floating around as well.
This isn't the NHL or NFL where if they don't get to the playoffs 1 time they might get fired.
5 movies, many animations, tv series. 1 sort if stinker. So not battin a 1000 but not exactly .381 average.
And Solo's failures were owned by Iger himself so its hard to put that on Kennedy when someone higher up was like "Oops, messed that up."People seem to think the concept is that if you piss off fans, you 're going to get fired. Hollywood is a business. Kennedy has brought in money for the shareholders hand over fist. If the fans want a change, they need to stop buying tickets or subscriptions. They don't seem to grasp the fact that any reaction, even negative, is good for entertainment. People still came out in droves to see The Rise of Skywalker after The Last Jedi and Solo's perceived failures. That, in my opinion, says a lot about Kennedy's staying power.
Facts matter very little in this instance. But as has been suggested numerous times, eventually Kathleen Kennedy is going to leave. And the people who have always been touting that she will be fired will spin the story so they look like the victors. Won't matter that likely she will leave on her own accord.
Yep. Just like Star Trek Discovery will some day end, likely of its own accord, but the folks constantly declaring it's cancelled will use the opportunity to say they were right all along. But as has been suggested numerous times, eventually Kathleen Kennedy is going to leave.
