well, is anyone looking forward to the movie "9"? it looks interesting... well, what about you guys? do you want to see it, or is it pretty much a miss?

I'll be at a free advanced screenin' on Tuesday night (at 9:09 pm), so, yeah, I'm lookin' forward to it.

Looks crap to me. No thanks.

I did think it was funny that in one of the early trailers they showed shots of some of the characters followed by a title-card of an actor (presumably the actor who voiced that character.) Ummm. It does us no good to show us a shot of an animated character followed by an actor's name.

^ Does kind of move you out of the moment. I don't want to think of the voice actor when I'm watching something.

You mean this trailer -

I don't see how its any different from a trailer for a live action movie showin' the character after the name of the actor playin' 'em.

And I kind of like it more than some animated movie trailers that incorporate footage of the actor doin' the voice work in the booth.

Ummmm it does if you want to know who the actors doing the voices are, which generally is a point used in the marketing of animated movies. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

Anyway, I'm rather interested in the movie, but in general I wait for most things to come out on DVD these days.

I've been looking forward to this film for quite sometime. I'll definitely be checking it out as soon as possible (which probably means, unfortunately, DVD).

Well, I have often found (though not always), a film's score is a rather good determinate of a film. Hearing clips on ScreenArchives.com, I find myself unimpressed. And the trailers don't get me either. And the original short film was so boring I had to stop watching.

I found it a wonderful, entertaining movie. Like a storybook that moves. (HINT: Tim Burton is one of the producers)

Finally a world that is interesting to be in, and a story that doesn't spoon feed the audience everything. It just starts. Some backstory is explained along the way, but how we got to the beginning of the story isn't important.

Fascinating, , well-realized, and even a little spiritual (without being preachy). And even though there's a lot of action in it, it's still, overall, a gentle movie.

Don't know if I'll ever see it again, but I was thoroughly entertained by it.

(NOTE: There are a few very intense and nightmare-like scenes and images which will probably scare younger kids)

Well, I liked it. And the friends I took with me to the free screenin' liked it, too.

I may go see it again, if I can gather another group together. If not, I'll be pickin' up the DVD soon as its available.
