Figured I'd start this thread early because of this preview and the name drop of a certain character.

Love the wording for last choice for grading option...!
Unable to comment right now, but will watch this thread with great interest in upcoming days!

I'm wondering if the robot is somehow linked to the Silurians-it does have a similar look with it's head (Also somewhat similar to those "Mass Effect" aliens) When it appeared in the teaser a few months back I thought it was possibly a Cyberized Vestra!

Weakest episode so far, albeit addressing stuff that needed to be addressed.

The good- Capaldi was fantastic (his scene with the kid is so me), Jenna good, Sam good, lots of funny lines, addresses stuff that needs to be addressed for the character arcs.

The bad- The "Doctor tries to fit in with a normal human job/life" has become an annual cliche, the amazingly bad robot is the worst creature since the Absorbaloff, and what is with Twelve being so against maths-teaching soldiers. Doesn't he remember this bloke with the moustache...?

I found that pretty amusing, but the robot was terrible.

As was Danny jumping over the robot.

I liked it more than previous eps. There's still something not clicking for me. I think it's Clara. Jenna is fine, to watch and as an actor, but the character has for me gone cold, she's too scatty and all over the place. If they let her slow down a bit, I might like her more. The Doctor's "fitting in with humans" thing did get a bit old, but I thought it minor. Is the schoolgirl the next companion? Hmm, perhaps not, for more than the spillage reason. Also the Doctor's approval of the teacher with the bow tie was funny. He reminded me of someone, can't think who...

Capaldi's the best thing in the show.

I couldn't sleep, so was able to watch it 'live' on ABC at 5:30am.

I think I was too tired and need to watch it again, I honestly didn't understand half the dialogue. Agreed... the robot was just ballz.

And we were left with a body (or bits of a body) from the policeman, but he still ended up in "Heaven" or wherever it is.

Okay, I've liked the stories so far, BUT.... (and please, I hope Moffat gets wind of this), they are too messy. They're all over the place (within one episode). And the endings are too quick.

I enjoyed it a lot, but some things bugged me.

Obviously, the utter lack of Ian Chesterfield is mind-boggling. And inexcusible - not even a cameo?

And Danny Pink's jump... what the heck? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that was unnecessarily stupid.

That said, I liked the character stuff, especially the quiet scenes with Capaldi and the Danny-Clara scene... its the first time that they kinda work as a couple.

I thought this episode was just ok. The Doctor had some good moments (although, as others have said, the anti-soldier stuff is weird when you consider his friendship with the Brigadier). Some of his school scenes were just great. Danny Pink was really annoying, though. Especially when he had his little freak out in the TARDIS. I just wanted to see The Doctor slap him  I mean, I get his side of it, but the way he was acting didn't really make me care too much. I actually thought the robot was decent.Overall, this isn't the weakest episode of this series, but it could have been a lot better.

Now when they do the Revenge of the Caretaker, we're not going to be sure if they are talking about this episode or that one with the Wardrobe and the Widow...

The Widow has a son in the Britcom Outnumbered who is a bit of a prick who is now, for quite some time now, has been in a different sitcom called Cuckoo where he is pursuing romantically and making out with the daughter of the Widow from the Doctor the Widow and the Wardrobe.

But then post Game of Thrones, incest is hot?

Not sure what to think of it. Some of it was great fun, some of it was interesting but overall, I don't think the episode really worked. Also, Clara comes off as somewhat shallow and as not taking Danny seriously. Normally, I would say their relationship doesn't have much of a future. Not sure whether that impression is intended or not, though.

This was the first person getting to "Heaven" that didn't sacrifice themselves for the Doctor. Intriguing.
