I'm sure i share this with many older fans: how much longer do we have to see scenes set in a school where Chesterson is the headmaster before we actually SEE him!

I would love to see Ian! If they're going to do this, they should do it soon and not delay like with Nicholas Courtney. William Russell is 89 after all.

It would've been best with Matt Smith at the Doctor for the reverse age contrast, but still cool with Capaldi. (Again, huge missed opportunity.)

Mr Awe

And we learn something everyday.

I didn't know the actor who portrays Ian was still alive until now. It would be cool to see him again, hypothetically.

Because it's every companion (except Amy/Rory).
No one (that I know of) had anything problem with Melody Pond regenerating into Mel's, so race isn't the issue. It's just a noticeable constant with companions in NuWho.

It does look like it's being done for PC reasons

I'm curious how one tells that something is done for PC reasons, so I'll ask this question: If it wasn't done for PC reasons, how would it look different?

Haven't you heard?! Two people of different ethnic backgrounds can't be mutually attracted to one another. They can't share an organic conversation or relationship (intimate and or friendship), it's all artificial. This way we can appease the "PC" Gods!

#sarcasm

I don't see what the big deal is about Clara and Danny going out for a drink. They are both adults, and they are both career professionals who want to get to know one another.

How many episodes have been stolen/leaked? I can't wait for the ominous "ha ha, wait until you see the next episode" messages to stop.

They should have a sexy love scene to get the racists riled up.:p ("They have no chemistry." "It's for PC reasons." "What is the deal with mixed couples?" And, one we'll surely see soon that starts off with: "I'm not racist, but....")

With all that said, I should watch the first two Capaldi episodes (by a certain means, of course *ahem*) but I'm spending time on STO and Trektoday...

I need to re-watch Matt Smith episodes to see how bad Moffett is allegedly, then compare them with the Capaldi episodes.

One thing I did notice, even with the Tennant era, is that sometimes the plots don't exactly make sense. So, I need to put on my 'writer's' cap along with my 'viewer's cap' and re-immerse myself into the nuWho.

My only issue with him is a general issue about Doctor Who since the revival. What's with all the mixed relationships on the show?

All... two of them? Rose/Mickey and Clara/Danny?

Did you forget Donna and Lance and Donna and Sean?

And we never saw Martha's boyfriend. (besides the later Mickey). I'll bet he was white or Japanese :)

It was just an observation the guy made, and I saw it too. It does look like it's being done for PC reasons, which is the worst reason to do it.

Wasn't Martha originally engaged to Tom Ellis' character?

I enjoyed this ep. As has been said, reminiscent of Eccleston's first episode with the Daleks. The nod to Fantastic Voyage was nice.

I was somewhat surprised to see it start off with a Clara-less Doctor. I'd assumed that he'd still have her with him as he was still finding his way around his new self. They seemed to have been separated so as to allow her to be at school and introduce Steve Buscemi - whoops, wrong Mr Pink! Which created a slightly odd but tolerable juxtaposition of romcom and sci-fi thriller in the opening scenes.

Danny seems amiable and watchable, even if it's hard to shake the feeling that they've added a good-looking young guy to fill the Tennant/Smith-shaped void. The Pink/Blue name thing may well be significant - remember how Pond and River ended up not being coincidental? Or perhaps it's a red herring (more damn colours).

Incidentally, Danny has clearly killed someone which has traumatised him and they kept calling him a 'ladykiller.' Too obvious or Moffatt hiding something in plain sight again?

Finally, it was nice to see an actor from my part of the world (Michael Smiley, who's worked with director Wheatley before) and have his accent go unremarked-upon.

He'll always be Tyus from Spaced :)

Yeah, loved him in that. It was also hard to grasp Vod from Fresh Meat as a soldier.

I thought it was funny too that for the second week in a row we saw a Game Of Thrones supporting actor getting offed - Ser Dontos the week before, Dolours Edd this week.

I think it was pretty obvious how the Doctor and Clara got seperated. They all but spelled it out.

She send him to fetch coffee while still being in Glasgow, whith him... somehow.... getting distracted by a human/Dalek conflict a thousand years in the future (who know where and when he is used to pick up coffee).

meanwhile in Glasgow, the Doctor doesn't show up and Clara travels back to her normal life because she has no idea when he will be back.

Next thing they both knew, they run into each other in a school cupboard 3 weeks later.

Yes, I did realise that. They didn't 'all but spell it out', they actually did explain it. My point was simply that I was surprised that the writers opted not to have them still together at the start of the show.

Ian isn't the headmaster, according to the board at the start of Day of the Doctor he's Chair of the Governors (which is a more credible position for someone beyond retirement age to be holding); the headmaster is William Coburn.
