Avatar Contest's Log - Supplemental:
This will be the final Star Trek Voyager avatar contest under my direction. This contest, and it's 4 + year history, will shortly become the care of another crew.... You get the idea.

Welcome to the Star Trek Voyager avatar contest finale. It's been a long road that od0_ital started, but we made it to the end. Like the show itself we lost a few viewers and participants along the way, but gained new ones. Hopefully our absent friends return for the end. I blame market over saturation.

1. This contest features the Star Trek Voyager finale "Endgame." Admiral Kathryn Janeway travels in time from a nightmare future to bring ship and crew home early, but the might of the Borg blocks the way.
2. The VOY Theme as chosen by Jetfire will be "Seven of Nine."
3. The Random Theme as chosen by Nachtkommen will be "Jeffrey Combs."

The Rules: Avs not to exceed 140x140 px and not be over 70kb in file size. Avs can be static pictures or animated, just don't go over the restrictions posted previously. One av entry per category. The theme must be Voyager related while the random is just that, random from anything. The contest runs on a bi-weekly schedule so entries will be accepted until October 27, 2010 sometime in the evening.

I blame T'Bonz for makin' me a moderator & Spiff for startin' the contests in General SciFi/Fantasy, 'cause that's what inspired me to bring 'em over to this forum once I could pin & lock threads & stuff...

If I recall correctly there were very few av contests going when you started this one. Now nearly every forum has them.

If I'm rememberin' right, VOY was the second series forum to have 'em, after ENT.

Shran was awesome. One of ENT's better characters. Better than half the regulars that's for sure. Wasn't there a plan to have him become a regular if the series hadn't been cancelled?

Shran was awesome because Jeffrey Combs is such a fantastic actor.

Yes, that was the plan. (That's the only reason it bums me out that the show got axed. :X)

Jeff's character would have maybe been added as a regular cast member on The 4400 if the show survived into it's fifth season, too.

Hey now, Weyoun is one of my favs! I would have used all his characters if I could submit more than one random av. This is a ST message board though, I expected a lot of people to use Weyoun, Shran, Brunt, etc.

Hey, it's not his fault they chose that episode to cast him in! And obviously some good came out of Merdian... Jeff might not have ever appeared in Star Trek if it wasn't for that episode.
