7's costume

Considering Seven's catsuit was pretty much a plate armor body corset, covered by spandex, it's a wonder Jeri Ryan could move as well as she did!

Ryan certainly did move well. :shifty: The catsuit was so unforgiving, it must have been hell for her trying to maintain that shape for 4 years. She couldn't afford to have mid-season weight gains like Shatner went through in TOS.

If you look at it with contempt.

Jeri had instantaneous weight gains that were detrimental to her sex appeal.

She had fainting spells in the silver get up from day one.

Does that mean that she ate a cookie after they measured her, or that they made what they determined to be a costume for the ideal female form and then instructed Mrs Ryan to lose weight until she fit into it... Which is what they did to to Michelle Pfeiffer and her Catwoman costume from the 90s.

I know they basically had to beautify Seven once she became part of the crew, but in retrospect, I think it would have been cool if they had spent the first few episodes of her first season she was on GRADUALLY transitioning her to look human, and just slowly started removing Borg prosthetics, maybe one an episode (IE one episode, the eye piece is removed, next episode, they grow her hair, etc) as a visual and outward embodiment to compliment her emotionally adjusting to becoming more human.

As for my favorite Seven outfit, not sure I have any particular preference, but if I did,it probably would either be the sleeveless workout outfit, blue/light blue outfit:

but personally, I think this pic proves she should have been in a starfleet uniform all along

What this thread said about Seven's catsuit might reflect what the crew thinks. But what about alien ambassadors and captains?
In "Day of Honor" the Caatai ambassador would have fallen upon Seven and wrestled her to the ground but Tuvok saved her.

PARIS: I never navigated a transwarp conduit. Any problems I should be aware of?
SEVEN: You have no idea what you are doing. If we attempt to enter one, I'll have to take helm control.
PARIS: I am a quick study.
RAHMIN: What species is that?
TUVOK: She is a human who lived as a Borg.
RAHMIN: Borg!
TUVOK: She is disconnected from the Collective. She won't harm you.
RAHMIN: Where's my wife? Where are my children? What did you do with them after you took them? What did you do with my family?
TUVOK: Mister Paris, please proceed.
(Tuvok leads Rahmin one way, Paris and Seven go the other.)
RAHMIN: I lost everything. My family, my home.
PARIS: Sorry about that.
SEVEN: About what?
PARIS: Well, the way he reacted to you.
SEVEN: He didn't injure me.
PARIS: Good.
SEVEN: There are many people on this ship who have similar feelings towards me.

__________
She worries about her acceptance on Voyager but the catsuit is something the crew understands.
Why doesn't Rahmin objectify about Sevens nudity. After all he might get a different feeling if he fell on her.
In 'The Raven' the B'Omar reject her as evil. Them disregarding any kind words Janeway has about her stay on Voyager.
In 'Retrospect' Koven has a secret affair with her illegally, but their isn't any words about her nudity.
In "the Omega Directive' the injured alien thanks her for nano-probe medicine but nothing was said about her nudity.
In 'Living Witness' the doctor says nothing about Seven's undressing when he reveals to the curator his new program about actual conditions on Voyager to save the ships name.
Indeed, in Season 5,6,7 all alien ambassadors reactions were similar if not exactly the same.

So, how can anyone say the catsuit is wrong or should not be worn somethimes.
The catsuit should be accounted for what it is there to be - complementary.
