Or the poor Ood are just beasts of burden to someone elses needs again. Where's Ood Zathrus?
whats more interesting is that the "Time Lords" also appear to being taken over by the same thing, probaly something in the crashed ship.

Lucky thing Rory and the Doctor weren't killed while Amy was taking the time to play dress-up. Still a girl's gotta look her best, right?
yes I noticed that to, also thought it was odd that the Doctor went to Amy, when Rory was busy trying to walk himself to his death.

it was a good, fun episode. Doctor Who always entertains me. even when its bad its still more entertaining and more interesting that other shows.

Is it just me, or did anyone else half expect Toby at the end to say something like "I wanna be called Glitz now..."?

Oh my god, this was TERRIBLE!! The first Matt Smith episode I have cringed all the way through. Very disappointing. :(

Well my initial thought is; that was bad, but I think I really need to watch it again.

I'm really glad that the pirate did get got offf camera, because I actually thought I was going mad for a minute, and wondered if I'd missed something! I was actually enjoying the episode but suddenly I was jolted out of it, and frankly I was annoyed. A show this high profile, with this much money spent on it, shouldn't have crap like that going on.

Why'd a kid have to show up, seriously? And the end...again I thought I was alone but a mate posted something on Facebook afterwards to the effect that it was a shame the show was ripping off an Eccleston episode already.

I half expected the Doctor to shout "Everybody lives!" Seriously I'm sick of crashed alien spaceships where the crew have died and the onboard AI is THICK!

And the resusatation scene was a bit woeful as well.

On the plus side Smith was a joy to watch as always, as were Karen and Arthur, and Lily Cole is just lovely.

So far though, 3 eps in and I'm not overly thrilled :(

Overall, I disliked this episode. As if the Doctor is not going to have some tools to save a simple half-drowning. Or, really, as if the EMH was too stupid to save a drowning victim. Stupidity makes my head hurt.

In the words of Charles Barkley, that's turrble. It's bad when the preview for next week is the best part of the episode.

I say that the Ood have something to do with TARDISes because the Ood song is the same as the theme for the heart of the TARDIS.

Funny you should say that.. I think I read somewhere that this episode WAS written by the same person who wrote "Fear Her". Have not seen it yet as I am in the US.. so we'll see.

checked imdb..no not the same person.

I liked this one very cool. wished they would have gotten liv tyler for the alien she creature. she would look hot in sea green. all so correct me if I am wrong or I missed something from last season for roary to survive threw time to save amy he was turned into a robot right did they turn back into a human cause I thought he was still a robot? just asking I might be wrong.

This one was meh. Started off neat, but it became repetetive and dull-- didn't build up the tension like it should have, and we never learned anything new until all of a sudden the Doctor changed his mind about the Siren.

There were a lot of scenes where the protagonists stood and watched things happen: when the black sailor went to his doom, when the kid stabbed the sailor. Why didn't they do anything? And if the TARDIS is about the dematerialize, why on Earth did the Doctor leave it?

Too bad the Doctor doesn't know CPR.

Matt Smith was fun as always.

It would explain what happened to the historical Pirate Every, but how would a 17th century pirate crew know what to do with a spaceship?

[EDIT]Deleted my comments because it looks like people are starting to do live commentary for another showing (BBC America I assume) and I don't want to spoil the flow. I'll repost my comments later.

Well at least we can be pretty sure Rory will survive the series. This is what, three times they've 'killed' him now?

Nothing earth-shaking, but an entertaining enough little filler story (in other words, not a classic, but no 'Victory of the Daleks' either). And definately a nice relief from last weeks grim tale. Its always a pleasure just watching Matt be all eccentric and Doctorish. Otoh, there were a lot of annoying little plot holes that hurt it overall.

I suppose the Doctor is counting on the kid to at least keep the Captain honest from now on. Not so sure about the crew though. I guess the Doctors philosophy is, as long as he doesn't SEE you being an evil bloodthirsty cutthroat, its okay. :)

Overall, I disliked this episode. As if the Doctor is not going to have some tools to save a simple half-drowning. Or, really, as if the EMH was too stupid to save a drowning victim. Stupidity makes my head hurt.

Yeah, that did strike me as a bit of a plot hole. But as for the EMH, they did make some passing referece to it not knowing ow to cure people, or some damn thing. Maybe thats all it was programmed to do? Keep the patient in stasis until a real doctor can have a look?
