Interesting. I haven't seen that particular image before...

I'm really looking forward to this one. I don't know about anyone else, but I got a strong The Shining vibe from last week's trailer in regards to the hallways.

Can't wait, only 9hrs and 45 minutes left.

That picture looks an awful lot like Andreas Katsulas (G'Kar of Babylon 5; Tomalok of Trek)

New Star Wars: Clone Wars last night, and now new My Little Pony and Doctor Who today? My brain just joygasmed.

Not totally sure, but I think that image at the top (which is thought by most to be Mark Gatiss in prosthetics) is from 6x13, not this week's episode which is 6x11.

I was trying to emulate Samurai's excellent format, by doing a quick image search on the episode. I thought that came from the correct episode. Maybe not, though... I'll fix it ASAP

ETA: Changed. Thx for the assist, RaggedGlory. :techman:

On a side note, please stop the Season/Series 6.5. It's NOT! It's Season/Series 6.

If you went by your logic, LET'S KILL HITLER would be 6.5x01, and this would be 6.5x04, not 6.5x011. You can't mix and match. :)

I give this episode an 8/10

It was elevated from 7/10 cause of Amy leaving (best thing to happen since Moffat took charge)

Good episode. A logical ending that I rather expected, but how does he ever justify another companion?

I don't care what anyone else says on this matter, this episode was the best of the series, far better than The Doctors Wife and better than the Girl Who waited last week.

It was as mad as a box of frogs, the musical cues were all over the place but in a really good way, the cinematography was bonkers but again brilliant and the script and theme of the episode was truly fried gold.

Walliams was good, as for the female doctor, Rita, her line telling the doctor not to be scared because she was Muslim was inspired.

As for that epilogue, I was welling up between laughing at the Williams' new house with a blue paint and an even bluer door.

Thanks for pitching in today. I slept in today.

And you do a better job with the pun's/grading choices. I'm not that creative with them. All I could think of was

Bad = "Shining did it better".

And yeah IMO an episode discussion thread feels naked without a picture at the first post.

Agreed it should be 6x11 or even 33x11 ;)

That was very interesting. From now on i am not going to watch any trailers or teasers. This was a good episode, but I think i would have loved it more if i didn't know as much as i did. The ending was quite surprising. I never guessed he would leave Amy and Rory so soon. I bet they are back in the final episode of the season. At least in a possible flashback from the Impossible Astronaut.

I wonder who the Doctor saw in his hotelroom. Maybe himself?

I quite liked this one. It was threatening to be a run-of-the-mill effort for a while, but I think the regulars and the relevance to the Doctor's current story arc elevated it somewhat. It was nice that the Doctor found a non-hurtful way of quelling his companion's faith in him this time around, too.

I got to say one thing though, does that mean she has given up on stopping the doctor from dying? Or saving her baby?

Good episode. A logical ending that I rather expected, but how does he ever justify another companion?

he justified it after he pulled the exact same shit less than two series ago after Donna left.

Because he's torn between two truths - he puts people in danger, but he also needs them (and perhaps the regular reminder that he puts them in danger) to keep him in line. It's all checks and balances. Besides, in this instance, it's more that he doesn't want them coming along to his death at Lake Silencio, cos they're already there.

That was good and relatively standalone fun, albeit with a resolution shamelessly knocked off from a certain season 26 story...

Good Minotaur too - great costume and makeup. David Walliams was fun (I know a guy that looks like that!) but the weight of the story arc is still somewhat crudely dumped in at the end. I also couldn't help noticing a lot of reuses of last season's music - especially Amy's themes - has there actually been much new music this season?

Good though, and next week looks great!

(I can't help thinking I'd have just said "OK guys, I'll catch you later, I'm just going to stick around here for a while" if I'd walked in on the roomful of girls)

Oh, and what's with having a character called Lucy Miller (in the script readthrough on Confidential - it's Hayward in the finished show)? Anybody'd think it was a Big Finish reference...

Meh, different strokes for different folks. Those are all very different episodes, so naturally they will appeal to different people whose tastes vary. Consequently, it's near impossible to assign any absolute rating.

Brilliant!
