Since SILENCE takes place later on in River's time stream than ANGELS, she may be inspired to invent (or have someone invent) the device they used in the library to hold on to the consciousness off the dead person.

It wasn't an invention, it was a side-effect of the communicator/personal computer they were using. Given how the characters talked about it, it sounded like everyone had one, and had for a while. In retrospect, it's a little weird Angel Bob wasn't some kind of data-ghost.

This is my favorite episode of the season so far. River Song is lots of fun. I wish they'd make her a regular companion.

I don't like how BBC America edited it though. It didn't feel like there was enough build up to the cliff-hanger. I don't even recall hearing that traditional end of episode stinger. The episode just kinda felt like it stopped, rather than crescendoed. Also, because of the way BBC America is staggering their closing credits, the DVR keeps cutting off the preview of next week's episode.

And they seem to have "forgotten" the fact the Doctor has been late every time now except when picking up River in space. Would have been a bad time to be late, you know?

River gave him specific coordinates. That probably helped the Doctor arrive on time.

It's also possible he's "run her in" now after the ship's reconstruction, and has a better control of the where and when he ends up.

The episode wasn't edited by BBC America. Any faults in the editing are in the original.

Well, BBC America still edits them a little, if only to replace the original credits with their new credits with a mini-preview of next week's episode squeezed in the frame.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but during the bit with River flying the TARDIS, did anyone else think Smith was channeling the First Doctor?
