50th box set has older discs

This may sound silly, however I just want to know if my Box set is different or they all were like this (Australia had a dumbed down version)

When watching the first disc in the original series Blu ray set in the 50th Anniversary box set, was it normal to have them be older versions where the first reboot of the Star Trek trailer plays (its listed as coming soon as in cinema) or did my region include the old normal box set discs (i am not sure if they made new discs for the 50th box set, but they were printed label wise new in other regions, not australia)

Just wondering as i know its not common to print brand new discs in a bundle box set, but i assumed with new labels, the 50th would be different

The discs and packaging are new in all regions, but their pressed with the original Bluray content from the 2008/9 release.

All the menus and content are the same, only the bonus disc has anything new on it.

25 discs are vintage and 5 are new -- the 3 Animated, the Documentary disc and the new Khan disc.
The first animated disc has an advertisment for the 2016 releases.
Man would the set have been sweet if it contained the Vault extras and the other movies restored!
It would have been a must have release.
Now a lot of folks just think of it as a cash grab.

TAS bluray is brand new and exclusive to this set for now, it could be well into 2017 before a standalone release (which might just be these discs released separately).

I heard the TWoK disc was the new print, but I wasn't sure, there were conflicting reports on that.

And yeah, they needed to put more content on there. The box for the 50th badge is huge just to balace out the space inside. They could have reduced the others, and put another sleeved box in there with several bonus discs of material.

I own it. The Khan is the new corrected disc. The Animated is coming out separately on Nov 15.

That was fast, I thought they'd keep it exclusive to the set for at least a while longer to help sales.

But then TAS DVD came out November 2006, they might want the blurays out for the 10th anniversary of that.

It was up for pre-order at Amazon but it was taken down.
Pretty sure CBS is holding back on the release announcement till they sell as many of the box set as possible.
But yes, it will be released in Nov.

Just wondered what you mean about a dumbed down version? Does the Australian release have less content?

Or they might be timing it for the BlackFriday/Christmas rush.

What's on the new bonus disc? I've looked around but not found any details. Is it something that has already aired elsewhere? Something interesting, or just glued together interviews of people praising the show, etc.
